To welcome in 2025 we are offering a special lunch and pre-theatre menu. £20 for 2 courses and £25 for 3 (plus service). It is an amazing bargain for the whole of January.

L'Escargot is London's oldest and most celebrated French restaurant serving classic French dishes. Favourite dishes include French onion soup, Lobster bisque, oysters, Tournedos "Rossini", grilled lobster, Chateaubriand and of course snails ! L'Escargot was voted one of the most romantic restaurants in London and is a perfect spot to celebrate a birthday or anniversary.

If you want to come in just for a drink, upstairs there is a great cocktail bar with reasonably priced cocktails and a bar snack menu.

The restaurant has welcomed celebrities such as Coco Chanel, Charles de Gaulle, Maurice Chevalier, Laurence Olivier, Lucien Freud and Francis Bacon. and was a favourite of Princess Diana

L'Escargot is located close to all the major West-End theatres, which makes it an excellent pre and post theatre dining spot.

As always at L'Escargot this was a fabulous occasion in every respect and on every level. Full of warmth, laughter, friendship and great conversation. The evening flowed by magnificently. So sorry to hear of L'Escargot's loss of Dorris the bulldog (apologies if incorrect breed). Dorris was the perfect ice breaker and added so much value to the restaurant and every occasion. We'll miss her! Gloriosa!

Service exceptionally attentive, pre theatre food delivered quickly and very good value for such a centrally located and iconic restaurant. Thanks for a great experience!

This was a per-theatre dinner from the Menu Du Jour. There was good choice and the food was delicious. The welcome and service overall was excellent - friendly and professional. Nice wine too. Lovely place - will return to try the full a la carte menu and do recommend this to others. Very convenient for west end theatres.

We enjoyed a lovely prix fixe lunch - a bargain! The food was delicious, as we have come to expect from L'Escargot, and the service was friendly and professional. This is a gem of a restaurant and we intend to visit again soon.

Wonderful old world charm with great service. The escargot were absolutely the best I’ve had (as perhaps one would expect) and didn’t disappoint at all. Look forward to going again

Arrived as a group of 4 for a pre-theatre dinner. We were shown to a round table suited to 8 people and had to insist on moving. The prix fixe menu is good value. We also picked the chateaubriand from the a la carte which was good. Service was pretty slow so we were a few minutes late for our show. The plus was we were not being hurried to hand the table back. Overall a good experience in nice surroundings.
