La Onda Latin Mex restaurant is an authentic Latin Mex venue serving flavours that draw from the vastness of Latin American and Mexican cuisine.
Located in the heart of Dromana, our venue sits across from the beach where the sounds of Latin American music blend with the rhythm of the ocean waves to create a unique dining experience in the Mornington Peninsula.
Let us inspire you with the love we all share for authentic cuisine straight from the heart of our history.
Our restaurant offers a-la-carte menu and the dishes are created with fresh produce and techniques from our talented kitchen team lead by Chef Roxy Flores. Our signature dish is the Fish taco, beef burritos and layered Nachos and don't forget our Margaritas and Mexican beers to get the fiesta started!

Amazing food and drinks. Each dish is packed full of love and flavour. The staff are incredibly lovely and so attentive. We love coming here for the Amazing ambiance and incredible food, especially the fish tacos.

Fantastic food and great service. The Mexican/Latin American food is great and much better than many so called Mexican food places throughout Melbourne. This is the second time I have been here and would definitely recommend it.

Have been here previously and found it to a much higher standard than tonight. Jalapeño poppers were cold in the middle, ceviche was stringy, the pork ribs were a mountain of indescribable grey meat. The churros tasted like they were cooked in the same oil as the poppers, and that was all we could taste - not a sprinkle of sugar or cinnamon in sight. The lovely wait staff did the best they could, and the chef at one point personally apologised when we were served something other than as described on the menu, but overall we just left disappointed.

Bit of a tricky one here. Booked on what was an extremely hot day and welcomed the air conditioned restaurant. However with a late cool change it soon became quite cold inside. We ordered margaritas ($20 each or $80 for a jug ((5 drinks)), the jug just supplied over 3 glasses so felt short changed with this. The chicken burrito was good, lots of ingredients with flavour. The fish tacos were a surprise with the fish being a single fried piece as opposed to the expected shredded grilled. All the food was tasty and supplied with efficient and friendly service. We felt the pricing was a bit more for what was on offer. Tempted to go again for the food but are conflicted with the value for money.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. On hot days our AC is on a stable 18c with an open kitchen the heat from the tortilla grill & oven can filter through the restaurant, if it gets too cold, just let us know we will accommodate. The Margarita jugs are measured based on 5 serves, the way it's poured depends on how many you get, it's good value to share with your group. The popular fish tacos are served with a crunchy piece of battered fish on a bed of shredded pink/white cabbage, pico de gallo, topped with pickled onion, diced radish & chipotle mayo on two soft corn tortillas...this is the La Onda way & we love it, if you're after a grilled seafood option we recommend the Tulum salad, YUM! We hope to see you again soon!
