Located on the historic Pantiles, La Casa Vecchia and The Grey Lady provides Royal Tunbridge Wells with an authentic mediterranean dining experience. Family owned since 2005, we are a unique and independent restaurant. Among our more popular dishes are the parillada for two, Spanish fish stew, crab and chorizo tagliatelle, and Tunisian chicken.

    La Casa Vecchia is one of our favourite restaurants that we try to dine at regularly. The food is always good and reliable and the service is great too. The owners make sure they train all their staff very well so that they can happily take an evening off and know their business is in safe hands. You always receive a warm welcome and excellent service.

    We took a family of 3 generations for a Mother’s Day lunch and the food and service, as always, were very good, which is why we chose to go there for a special occasion. The menu is extensive, so there’s something for everyone. The staff were friendly, despite being very busy.

    Arrived to find a wedding taking place of around 40 people with a few random tables squeezed at the side - i think the venue should of been closed for private party not taking extra bookings. Had to wait 15 mins to even order a drink as serving the wedding party

    Mostly good experience but we were told only 90 minutes into our booking that we had to vacate the table (immediately) for the next party. No prior warning was given that we were limited on time and we’d not even seen a desert menu. It took quite a bit of negotiation before the next party was given an alternative table. Almost ruined the evening.

    The warm greeting when we arrived at the restaurant made us most welcome. We were served quickly and our drinks arrived promptly. The lunch ambience was excellent and the excellent service was complimented by the fantastic Spanish menu choices. The paella was probably one of the best I and my guests have ever eaten even when in Spain. I’d have no hesitation in recommending this Restaurant and the team that served us and I will be returning with my guests many times again. Brilliant choice
