    The ambiance was awesome. The food and drinks were fabulous! Our waiter, Matthew, was attentive and didn't miss a beat with making our experience top-notch. We will be back!

    Kounter has become a New Years Eve tradition for us (three years running!). Food is great and we love the history of the restaurant. Kudos to Chef Rob and his staff for creating a culinary gem in downtown Rock Hill, SC!

    I was really looking forward to this reservation to celebrate NYE early dinner with my kids. The food was underwhelming, unfortunately however We got really good service from our server Skyler. The tuna poke had seven small cubes of tuna on a plate of dressed Napa cabbage and crispy wonton strips. The salad was well dressed. Wish we had more tuna. The crab dip was not more than five or six bites.  and the dip was very soupy.  the rice with the trout was undercooked by a margin. the biggest disappointment was the lobster gnocchi. It was gnocchi in a cheese sauce( like mac and cheese) with a lobster tail on top.  could not taste the cheese sauce and was really hoping for some lobster meat in the gnocchi itself for the money we paid. Overall, I think my expectations were high based on the reviews I saw. unfortunately was disappointed

    We enjoyed Kounter for the second time this Christmas Eve. The restaurant has some different offerings you may not see elsewhere but something for just about everyone. It is not large so reservations are recommended on typically busy times. Service has been nice on both occasions with good pace and not overly attentive. Only thing that would have made this visit better was warmer food. The food itself was great but plates and food could have been hotter and the restaurant was not that busy while we were there. We do like the restaurant however and will be back.

    We visited for dinner service. The restaurant is not very large, we had reservations so we did not have to wait. Due to the size of the space I would recommend you have a reservation. The history or the location is interesting to learn about. The food was great, we had the Chicken Sliders, it was a large portion and the steak, it was cooked the way we asked and a decent size. We met Chef Rob, he is super friendly and the staff was as well. We would definitely dine here again.
