A much loved institution returns to the Sorrento foreshore. On the site of the storied Beer Garden & Dining Room is the new Koonya Hotel - complete with Public Bar, Lounge Bar, Bistro, Private Dining and Beer Garden. Steaks were cooked perfectly and a good size, were thoroughly enjoyed. Service was prompt with kids meals brought out first which was great! Mussels were very good too. Only thing to fault was the Parma were a little overcooked and dry but otherwise couldn’t fault anything else.

A very pleasent pub meal with a great view of the bay. Kitchen was accommodating of special requests. The seafood linguini was to die for and my steak was tender and well presented. Overall an enjoyable family venue for a meal.

Food wasn’t good - x3 mains parmas were extremely bland. Parmas and fires were cold asked for new ones and second one came out cold again , couldn’t be bothered asking for another new one as can tell its the standard of food served here. Better places to get a pub style meal on the peninsula Sourdough starter is just sourdough toasted - not good bread 1.5 hour wait for food with self service drinks with cocktails poured from cans Wouldn’t rush back - would only go for a drink

We arrived on time. The restaurant was pretty empty for a Friday night. We stood around for 15 min. No one acknowledged us at all so we sat down at a table and still no one came over so we got up and left and went next door to Italico where they were more than happy to seat us with no reservation.

We had a lovely time celebrating the end of work year at Koonya Hotel. Food was good (we went for shared plates) and perfect location for a sunny afternoon.

Expected better size, quality and flavour of food based on the prices. The prawn tacos were nice, but everything else lacked interest and flavour.

Disappointed on arrival after booking that there was now table allocated . I thought that was the idea, lucky we were early a got table
