The Kinneuchar Inn is a 17th-century pub and restaurant which champions great food in an intimate setting. We recently were awarded Best Local Restaurant in Scotland 2023 by The Good Food Guide.

We serve a daily changing 'a la carte' menu, based on ingredients sourced from the Balcaskie Estate and a handful of carefully curated partners. Our menus are seasonal and produce-led, aiming to highlight the quality of the ingredients.

Helmed by James Ferguson (formerly of The Connaught and East London eatery Beagle) and partner Alethea Palmer.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Greek themed Xmas Eve dinner. Not a turkey in sight, thankfully. Very authentic, expertly cooked and delicious food, served with a smile and attentive service. We loved it!

The food was incredible. It was an amazing evening celebrating our anniversary and we will definitely be back. The staff couldn’t be more friendly and the place was stunning. Can’t recommend enough.

We have dined here a few times and have never been disappointed, this time was a Christmas treat.The menu is a bit different from the norm but in a good way. I had braised lamb shoulder,it was fab,my partner had skate,also fab. My steamed pudding was also delicious although a wee bit more custard would have been welcome,my partner had mincemeat tart which he enjoyed. We were surprised that it was quiet as it was the Friday before Christmas but the lady who served us, owner I think,said they weren't busy until the Sunday,we were there on a Friday. We travel a fair distance to eat there,it's certaimly worth it.We will be back soon.

I dined alone for lunch, in the bar. Atmosphere was nice, staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, and the food (all 3 courses) was excellent. Freshly baked madeleines to take away were the best I’ve eaten 🙂 All in all, a very pleasant lunch and would highly recommend - will certainly return when in the area.

Very limited choice for vegetarians and only one vegan option on the menu, despite us calling in advance to say that one of our group was vegan. When we were paying and I handed over a voucher, the two staff members rolled their eyes and then disappeared after I'd paid, so there was nobody there to say goodbye as we left - seemed a bit odd...

This is a very special place with fantastic inventive menu , wonderful bread and butter and super wine list and friendly staff. Worth the round trip from Edinburgh any day.

A really memorable dining experience. Thoughtful and excellent menu and staff friendly and engaging. Will be making arrangements to get back again soon
