Equal parts evil lair and Victorian cocktail salon, KINDRED has transfixed and beguiled
all who step into its portal, with whimsical eccentricity, world class vegan dishes, and ambitiously inventive cocktails.

Since opening its doors in late 2015 in the enchanting neighborhood of South Park, San
Diego, KINDRED has garnered recognition which transcends its plant-based credo,
heralded as one of the city's premier dining institutions. It has been named EATER San
Diego's and San Diego Magazine's Restaurant Of The Year, topped Zagat San Diego's
Most Important Restaurant Openings, and earned an Orchid Award for interior
design from the San Diego Architectural Foundation. KINDRED was also named within the Food Network's list of the best vegan restaurants in the country, was voted the Best Vegan Bar in the U.S. by VegNews magazine, and received regional honors from the Tales Of The Cocktail Foundation for Best Restaurant Bar in the West.

The food was good, the service a bit slow. In our party of 3 we had the hot potatoes, Caesar salad, norm core and one other dish which was all decent. The lemon aioli for the potatoes definitely had a bright lemon flavor…would have been great if more garlic was added. It took a while to be served and we had to ask another waiter to help a couple of times to expedite the experience. We wished the website was more clear in indicating that Only brunc would be served the hours we were there. We were hoping to try a few things off the dinner menu that were not available on a Sunday at 1pm due to the brunch hours and menu.

We did not eat so i cannot rate the food, but the drinks and service was great even though they were busy.

They accommodated our growing party so well. We had the best celebration for friends' engagement. Had a great time with great service. Loved the Halloween menu!

The food and drinks were delicious!! It doesn’t seem like vegan food! It is a loud restaurant. We sat by the outside so it was quite pleasant! I’m looking forward to the next time!

It is so loud at this restaurant that I could not carry on a conversation with the person sitting across the table from me. And the music choice is terrible. I am sorry I wasted an hour at this establishment. I will NEVER go back, even if the food is free.

I love this restaurant! The vibe is super cool and the food is amazing! And vegan too!! I love the gothy decor and super creative food and drink menu. Perfect birthday celebration!

I normally would not go to a vegetarian restaurant, but went with friends and thought the food was amazing. Overall theme of the restaurant was great and the drink menu was creative. I will be back.
