At Kindling we believe that great steak should be for everyone. Located in the heart of Brighton, our restaurant offers a laid-back dining experience with great value, quality beef cooked over charcoal and live fire.
Our open kitchen lets you see all the action up close. Witness the skill and passion of our team as they cook your steak to perfection.

We focus on quality and value, creating a casual environment that makes everyone feel at home. Kindling is perfect for casual business lunches, family get-togethers and catch-ups with friends.

Our menu is simple but spot-on. It features grass-fed British beef and delicious cocktails, wines, and beers that perfectly complement your meal. On Sundays we serve our Sharing Roast for two alongside our regular menu.

We had the sharers roast dinner. Great taste and presentation. The gravy was amazing. However, the portion size, especially the meat, was small. The beef was delicious but fatty and chewy. I have definitely had better. But the biggest disappointment was that I left hungry. I’ve never had a roast dinner out where I have left the restaurant hungry before - and I’m a small person with a small appetite! Not sure I would have a roast dinner here again.

Generally we would give this place 5 star,...food is great, waitresses are really good also! What started off a nice afternoon, but ended with the girl who seats people staring at our table looking completely stressed, so when we were handed the bill before we could order anything else, we knew we were getting hurried to leave. I said to my wife, I think they're hurrying us to leave for the table, (we had been there about an hour and a half) then the stressed seating girl came over and asked for the table back, just as I had presumed. I would have no problem with this generally, but there is no indication and no communication from the staff when entering that they would need the table back after an hour and a half (you can only eat and drink as fast as you’re served). Myself and my wife have both run prestigious restaurants and hotels, so feel we are the best people to point out that small communication like ‘we will need the table back after an hour and a half' should be a priority on entering the restaurant. When I confronted the front of house, the girl did apologise and say she was stressed, but upon leaving I did hear her say to the manager that she didn't rush us,....completely false, as we could see the whole scenario playing out before our eyes! Just a thought to the restaurant for future,....communication is key

Excellent food surpassed expectations. A really lovely restaurant , it will now be on my go to list for special occasions.

There’s absolutely nothing that could be improved on based on our experience. We had the sharing Sunday roast which was fabulous. The owner/manager was delightful as were all of the other staff we encountered. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and presented so that you don’t feel you are too close to other diners. We will definitely go back!

The food was superb, I had the pork chop and my partner had the sirloin steak. Both were cooked perfectly and really nice cuts. We shared croquettes and hummus to start. The staff were friendly and attentive and the service was excellent.
