Kettner’s Townhouse is a restaurant and Champagne Bar with 33 bedrooms, in a historic Georgian building in London’s Soho.

Established in 1867 by Auguste Kettner, Kettner’s was one of the first restaurants in London to serve French food. The French restaurant at Kettner’s Townhouse has a menu inspired by the history of the building, serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, using locally sourced ingredients from the UK.

Whilst we did have a great meal at Kettner’s they seemed to be out of quite a few things. Firstly they had no oysters. Then, upon beginning our order our waitress informed us that they only had 3 steak frites left and our party then had to decide who got them. It was a tad awkward. Maybe next time alert the guests before they begin ordering. Also I ordered a cocktail which I have had before called the picante and there was no alcohol or chili in it. They did correct it but it was strange as my friend who also ordered one had hers made properly. Overall it was a good meal and our waitress was very nice but a little disappointed with those 3 awkward moments…

Champagne Bar appeared closed due to refurbishment but main bar stylish & cosy. Reception lady very helpful & mindful of customers with mobility issues… but waiting staff mediocre at best. Champagne should be served colder. Food was good & vibe nice.

Eloise was our server today and she was brilliant. Really attentive, caring and polite. She even saw we had a lot of food left and suggested we take a doggie bag! The food was delicious… and I can’t wait to visit again. Nice layout and ambience too.

Hadn’t been to Kettner’s for some time but it was good to know that everything was as great as the last time. Very attentive staff, beautifully prepared food, lovely ambiance and good value. What more could we have asked for?

The service was exceptional. Very friendly and happy to accommodate allergies and took them seriously. The dishes were a bit overpriced imo, but everything we had tasted lovely. Very nice, calm ambience.

Amazing place , great service , lovely ambience , Would recommend. The lamb was amazing . Generous servings of sides . Had a shot in the dark cocktail which was great ! Staff attentive

We love coming to Kettners. It’s an oasis of calm in busy London. Service was not as good as usual. Had to keep asking for drinks and top ups of water. Portions small. But we come for the atmosphere and very relaxed setting. It’s a tradition we hold to always meet at Kettners, but would love a little more bang for our buck. We will be back as it’s great. Preferred the food when the previous chef was in charge. French food doesn’t need to be fussy and expensive.
