Located in the heart of historic Fairfax City, Kelly's Oyster House & Bar offers fresh, vibrant sea fare from the Atlantic Ocean and Chesapeake Bay. Situated just across the street from the City of Fairfax's courthouse and two blocks from the town square, Kelly's is the perfect restaurant for all occasions. Whether you're grabbing a drink with friends or celebrating a birthday, wedding, or anniversary, we at Kelly's are excited to see you!

Kelly's boasts two cozy front dining rooms, as well as a large "Maine" bar and an oyster bar. On warmer days, our covered front patio is open to walk-ins. Furry friends are invited to join us in our outdoor space, but we ask that they stay leashed and with their owners at all times.

Kelly's is owned and operated by Bill Hamrock and was established in the spring of 2024, and is a sister restaurant to Hamrock's Restaurant in Fairfax City.

The food and service were excellent,but the noise level was very loud as a result of one group. The waiter said that the noise level is generally not that loud. For this reason I mark the atmosphere down.

Went for restaurant week. Choices were great but the actual food was just ok. Service started out great, but the server asked if we wanted another beer when our entrees were served. We said yes and the beers sat on the bar until we finished our dinner. I had to ask a couple of times to get them. We were hopeful but I don't know now.

Kelly’s Oyster Bar in Fairfax is a great retreat from the city. I mean that from our table the atmosphere and service made us feel like we were at an oyster bar on the coast! We went Restaurant Week and were glad we did! The menu was extensive, the kitchen and cocktail bar both exceeded our expectations. We will be back again soon!

We ate in the Oyster Bar room....our favorite spot. Were pleasantly surprised to find out it was Restaurant Week so we ordered from that menu. All 4 meals were excellent. Service was a bit slow but we were not rushed.Noise level was quite pleasant....easy to hold and hear our table conversations without being bothered by adjacent tables. very pleasant experience.

We had a fabulous meal cooked perfection during restaurant week in Fairfax City. We enjoyed broiled oysters which were cooked to perfection and I had rainbow trout that was melt in your mouth. I ended the meal with a delicious black raspberry chocolate chip ice cream made in house. I have eaten here three times and all three times have been wonderful! I highly recommend!

Service was slow to start but after we ordered a bottle of wine the server looked in on us regularly. The food was great. The crab cakes were excellent as were the scallops. Definitely planning to go back.

We had an amazing experience today for my husbands birthday! Chris was our server and did a great job. The food was delicious and so were the drinks! The oysters were great and for the shrimp and grits were the best my husband has had. Means a lot coming from someone who only rates food pretty good! Chris also did a great job staying calm and managing a completely rude and disrespectful customer who is why I gave the ambiance a 3. It’s not at the fault of the restaurant but the fault of a horrible customer! Chris continue doing great things and way to remain calm and kind even when someone was over the top! Thank you Kelly’s for a great lunch! We will definitely be back and will spread the word to our Herndon Village! Totally worth the drive!

Valentine’s Day is a busy night for most restaurants. Our server and the ONE worker who was shucking oysters all alone the entire evening worked hard. BUT our reservation was for 6:30. We had to wait 15 mins for a table. Then my drink didn’t arrive until 7:30. Our appetizer 8:10 and our entrees 8:30. Our half dozen oysters didn’t arrive until after our entrees. It got so late that by 9pm we had to ask for our dessert to go. Service was super slow. The drink I was told would be comped was not taken off the bill. The food was excellent and every server was working very hard to please an upset and hungry restaurant. Somewhere a system failed. Maybe too many reservations?? Maybe something was amiss in the kitchen? We will be back but not on a busy Valentine’s Day.
