After 18 years of service at Shokudo Japanese Restaurant and Bar on Kapiolani boulevard, we are excited to announce the introduction of Kaimuki Shokudo on 11th avenue. You can expect the same Shokudo essence and hospitality paired with a new exciting concept featuring fresh soba along with other delicious Japanese specialties. Very disappointing. First time at this location. Menu was so sparse and mostly soba which I am not partial to. No tofu! What kind of Japanese restaurant doesn't have tofu! Restaurant was dark and dingy looking, tables so small and too close together. The bathroom was dirty and not toilet seat covers. The sushi rolls were small but tasty. Tempura was good. Honey toast was good thankfully! Overall meh no need to eat here again when there are so many great Japanese places around town.

Great service and delicious food. Every dish we've ordered is tasty and the price point is affordable. Soba is great and it's my husband's favorite place to get beef curry.

Excellent saba soba dish. Worth the money. Get two big pieces of saba with the soba. Very happy with the choice

Bartender/server (male) was amazing. Very attentive, great attitude just outstanding. Best experience yet, and we frequent Kaimuki Shokudo at least 2-3/mo. Will be back soon!

When I had lunch, they said soba making machine was broken, so cannot make soba, sushi, and donburi bowls only… A little disappointed. Tempura was good!!

The food was very tasty and came out very quickly once we ordered. Trying several izakaya dishes was really fun, and it was great to sample a bunch of things. The only downside was that they sat people on tables that were very close together. Being seated so close to other people was a little uncomfortable, especially when there were open tables farther away. Besides this, the food was great, and the service was excellent!

Kinda expected the portions to be on the smaller side as compared to the price. Howeverz, the most dissappointing item was the ribeye steak. For $28, we didn’t expect to get a lukewarm piece of meat that felt and tasted like it was reheated in a microwave.

Very convenient reservation times on OpenTable. Customer service was great. Food was high quality, fresh, and the restaurant week special is a great value deal! Ambience of the restaurant was very nice; I really enjoy the tasteful decorations, and the spacing of the tables were appropriate.
