El Jimmy Kelly’s se ubica en una majestuosa mansión sureña del centro de Music City y continúa siendo un referente de las churrasquerías estadounidenses. Jimmy Kelly fundó el restaurante en 1934, en medio de la Gran Depresión y un año después del fin de la prohibición, y se hizo una promesa a sí mismo y a sus comensales: servir un gran filete y un buen vaso de whisky y proporcionar un servicio atento. For the thousands of visitors new to Jimmy Kelly’s you won’t be disappointed. For those of us who have been dining there for decades, the noticeable changes instituted by new ownership are disappointing. Sides such as a baked potato and salad are now a la carte in spite of the noticeable higher prices. Choices of sides have been noticeably reduced. My wife even noticed the soap dispenser in the restroom was watered down. Really? We had a wonderful meal. The food and service were great, but the former unique charm has been replaced by another expensive steakhouse.

Jimmy Kelly’s is under new management and immediately I could notice the difference. The service level is consistent with previous service experiences. The highlight was the upscale quality of the cuisine. The steaks were prepared as requested and the flavor profile did not disappoint. One change is that the baked potatoes and salad are now al la cart which is consistent with similar quality steak houses. While the price has increased by about 20-25% from what I remembered ; the overall dining experience was a win. The creamed spinach and corn brûlée were excellent. Our waiter Issac took really good care of us and made sure our dining experience was pleasant. Finally the restaurant is still undergoing renovations. This signals strong investment for the future of this hidden gem in Nashville.

Always enjoy Jimmy Kelly’s. It’s a steak house so get steak. Had the scallops for an appetizer - very good but 3 for 30 ? Steak was great but for to price hikes I will go to Morton’s or Stoney river for a better appetizer and side selections.

Steak was tough and loaded with fat(bone in ribeye). Kate’s potatoes were dry and overcooked. Corn cakes were soggy and tasted as if they were made a while back instead of prior to eating. I am making these comments because of my recollection of how much different it is now versus 20 or so years ago when this was among the best steak houses around

We all had a very good experience, Service was great, Kim (our server) gave us very good service, the table was very accommodating for our group size and the food was delicious.
