   The name speaks for itself. This place truly is a jewel. From its charming character to its cozy interior, it truly does not disappoint. It was an absolute experience. Will definitely be back. The food was so unique and delicious.

   This is a must! A short walk from all the intensity of downtown and extremely worth it! The drinks were expertly complementary to the food. Each dish had clean, bright flavors- a departure from the standard around. You’ll be pleased you booked this place!

   While I cannot recall our server’s name, I can’t rave enough about him!! Not only did he have great knowledge of the menu to make appropriate (and delicious) recommendations based on personal preferences, he provided us with some fun history of how the Jewel of the South got its name and inspiration for a couple of recipes. We had a wonderful experience and can’t wait to come back. We recommend those miso potatoes!

   We have been going to Jewel of the South, since they opened during the 'pandemic'. We were even part of the 'take away"cocktail club. We are always happy with our experience and have been very pleased with the quality and creativity of the food. The chef is nothing short of brilliant, and I tell him that every time I see him. The experience is like an elegant UK style pub, and we love to take out of town guests there as the management really gets the New Orleans experience but in an elevated manner. The setting and decor are just beautiful. No detail is left to chance, especially the outdoor seating with heaters in the winter and fans in the summer. Very well engineered and intelligently thought out. I dream about the foie gras in it's many incarnations, I am of Scottish descent and appreciate how the Chef brings his experience and recipes to life in the kitchen. If this were a larger restaurant with fancier digs, I have no doubt that it would a Michelin star recipient. I could eat everything on the menu but I control myself, which is very difficult. Everything is cooked to perfection. I am thrilled that it has grown from bar snacks to a lovely, inspired menu. I may even have to try the Haggis, as I have never been brave enough yet. But if this chef is preparing it, I know it will be wonderful. The staff is wonderful, attentive but discreet. We just love the setting and can't say enough good things about this restaurant. I recommend it to every visitor we host and love to share it with local friends who have not yet discovered it. Lunch is particularly nice as it is a leisurely meal, we are never feel rushed out to turn the table. We look forward to seeing how it grows in the future. We are so happy with this addition to relaxed fine dining in New Orleans. Bravo!

   We came for the cocktails, but we were drawn in by the food so we couldn't resist eating as well. Both my wife and I had vegetarian options - the sunchokes were particularly nice (and different). The cocktails were an interesting take on classics (as well as the normal classics available). Not the cheapest, but definitely worth a visit. Would definitely go again (if we didn't live in London...!).

   Absolutely a 5 star experience. Hospitality A++. Staff went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. Cocktails are some of the best in the world. Food was absolutely off the charts good.

    Check the menu before going. No burgers or steaks to be had here. However, the dishes that they do make are very delectable and thought out thoroughly. We had the blood sausage and lobster raviolo and it did not disappoint. The drinks are amazing! I’m more of liquor connoisseur so that really adhere to me. The ambience felt like a speakeasy and the size felt like a dive bar but it wasn’t neither. They have outdoor seating, knowledgeable servers, and overall just a really cool experience.
