Borrowing its name from an influential 1850s-vintage bar in the Central Business District, this pub-like tavern (with courtyard) occupies an old brick Creole cottage in the French Quarter, where well-known local bartender Chris Hannah serves up cocktails both classic and contemporary. London-born chef Philip Whitmarsh runs the kitchen.
Accolades include James Beard, World 50 Best, Art of Hospitality, Best Bar South (North America).

The quality of all the dishes was outstanding. From the Siberian caviar to the potato scallops, to start with, and to finish with a scrumptious egg custard and a wonderful crunchy(crocante) Brandy Snap, everything was well prepared and well presented. The Burgundy Truffle was baked to perfection, and the chicken, trotter pie was rich, delicious and filling. The Jambalaya au congri, and combo choux were the perfect combination. Eggs Royale were creamy, tasty and very well balanced with the caviar topping. Hanna, our server, was super nice, happy and gentle like few people are. The pairing cocktails were well prepared and served, but not my cup of tea. I am not a cocktail fan so I apologize to the bartender who prepared them. One of the best dinners we have ever had!

The menu was definitely unique, and somewhat limited. It was also difficult to understand exactly what the various choices were, although the waiter did explain things a bit. My wife had a fish dish. Which she liked. My friend ordered beef tongue (only beef item on the menu) which he couldn’t finish and I went with pork belly, I too couldn’t finish it. So, unless you have a refined palate and/or looking for some non standard dished, probably not a good choice.

Great experience! Love the creativity of the food and drinks! They did not disappoint. We got a dish complements of the chef which was nice and I really enjoyed myself. My wife and I are spending a couple days here and we love good food and drinks. This place is so good, I actually may go back while we are on this trip. If you are considering good food, drink, and value please look no further and do not fall for the tourist restaurants. This place is the real deal.

The Kaluga was amazing as well as the redfish. The wagyu tongue was something I would have never ordered absent the recommendation and it blew me away both with the flavor and texture.

Hannah was a delightful server and took the time to help us navigate the menu and chit chat. We enjoyed two rounds of cocktails and caviar service. It was a memorable evening - thank you, Hannah and team!
