We don't take ourselves too seriously at Jax Fish House. Two things we do take seriously? The freshness and sustainability of our seafood. You know fresh fish when you see, smell, and taste it-and thanks to modern delivery technology, we bring in that freshy-fresh seven days a week. Sustainability is a little more complicated. Not all commercial fisheries are created equal. That's why we work closely with our suppliers and science-based organizations to ensure that every single thing we serve is responsibly sourced. We consider the stocks of the species we source to prevent overfishing and we work with suppliers who harvest in ways that have minimal impacts on marine environments.

Walk east from the structure thru the Galleria to access our door on College. There is also ample street parking along College ave.

    The Max Transit System comes right to Old Town! Jax is between two stops you can either hop off at the Mountain stop on The Max or at the LaPorte stop. Walk one block south to College Ave. and we are half way up the block on the West side of College Ave.

                                                                                                                                                        We were a medium sized party seated next to the kitchen. It had been several years since we visited Jax.  Everyone enjoyed appetizers, including peel and eat shrimp, poke tacos, poutine, crabcakes and salads. Cocktails were tasty and our server Matt was friendly and professional! 5 of the 6 entrées came out quickly and were fantastic! The remaining entrée which was salmon on chili rice arrived over 20 minutes after the others and by that time everyone was finished eating and the guest had to quickly woof it down as we were attending an event. The server immediately removed the entrée charge from the bill and apologized. It was uncertain what happened in the kitchen to delay the entrée. We will return for the awesome seafood and service and hope the kitchen flow was a one time problem.

Very good variety of dishes. The miso salmon was out of this world as well as the oysters. Would highly recommend getting a reservation as it was packed.

Started with a mix of a dozen oysters and entrees for the table included a few lobster rolls, salmon, blue crab cacio e Pepe, swordfish and salad. All were great. They did a special birthday dessert form the e birthday girl too. All around a great evening!
