When I made the reservation, I stated the dinner was a birthday celebration for my girlfriend. I do not appreciate the 0 acknowledgement of this. Food was alright, server seemed fed up when we asked for sauces for our sushi. Usually love this place, but did not have a great experience this time. Disappointed.

Japonica in El Segundo came in clutch for a quick & delicious dinner while waiting for a friend to arrive at LAX! Rather than wait at the cellphone lot, we headed here for yummy beef tan tan ramen ($18), shrimp crunch roll ($12), fried chicken ($13) & their popular Kyoto Kryptonite sushi ($16)! Tight parking, busy resto but delicious eats!

Dinner at Japonica is always memorable. Food is delicious, service is quick and attentive. We had a great time, can’t wait to go back. Thank you for the experience.

This is our second visit to Japonica. We first tried Redondo Beach and decided to try El Segundo as well. The food is exceptional, and the atmosphere is comfortable. Thank you for making our date night memorable

The happy hour choices were great. Particularly loved the Brussels sprouts and the Bumblebee roll. Service was friendly and efficient and enjoyed the overall relaxed atmosphere.

The food was terrible, inauthentic, lacked flavor. We’ve been to Tokyo twice, as recently as this past August, and it would be sacrilegious to associate what was served for dinner last night with Japanese cuisine. We will recommend people visit Sushi Beluga in Playa del Rey instead which has Japanese chefs and servers attending to their guests and the quality, flavor and authenticity of each menu item is spectacular and consistent each and every time. Also the service at Japonica was just the worst. Two tables alongside us were served and left before all of us were served our meals. We haven’t had this awful of a dining experience in a very long time, and there is no amount of money which would ever convince us to waste our time on Japonica ever again.
