Japango is a gift to Fort Collins! We are so grateful to the staff; the service is OUTSTANDING and the dining options are INCREDIBLE!!! This was our 10th visit and every time Japango out does themselves!!! We are very Grateful for tonight’s dining experience and so grateful for all of our visits!! Kudos to Japango to Sean to Jonelle, to Kait to Julian to Chris and Sam creating the libations. We are so impressed and we send you our love and gratitude!!

Our party of 5 had reservations for a Saturday evening celebrating our friend’s 40th birthday (which was a surprise dinner for her). A few of us arrived early to put a few decorations on the table which the restaurant made us clear they were not very happy about (it was subtle banner that said “look who’s 40” in gold cursive and a few balloons tied to the chair.) As part of the surprise one of the ladies baked a pie that was an old family recipe and brought it. We were okay with the $20 fee they charged for bringing an outside dessert but again, they made it clear they were annoyed. We ordered apps, sushi, cocktails, etc. and when our server dropped the check she said they added gratuity because of our large party size. Having worked in restaurants for years, I was surprised by this comment. 5 ppl is hardly large. Maybe something about us made her think we wouldn’t tip her 20%? I even added more tip on top of that, but am not sure I will ever return. We were there for 2 hours celebrating, we were not obnoxious, but they were not the most welcoming. The food was great, I had dined at Japango in Boulder and knew it would be good quality - but apparently celebrating a special occasion killed the vibe there. There are many choices in Old Town, you would think they would want people to choose their establishment to celebrate?

Try to find a quiet corner or come after 7:30. Lots of young folks celebrating.

We eat here often and always enjoy it! The waitstaff is all fabulous, and the decor is very well curated. We recommend the Spiderman and gilded bee rolls!

The food and service are the best! We had several items from the starter menu Dynamite, seaweed salad etc and also had their Sashimi Utopia which was beautiful and delicious. Absolutely the freshest food you can eat!
