   El restaurante tiene muy buen ambiente y las bebidas están bien. Pero el servicio es pésimo y muy lento, me sentaron en la barra y el bartender nunca me ofreció un bebida mientras esperaba mi mesa, a la comida le hace falta mucho para ser un platillo placentero, platillos muy pequeños para el precio que tienen, el postre es muy pequeño y no tiene nada que ver con el menú. El servicio es lento y no pueden ofrecerte más agua del que deberías tener en tu mesa. El mesero muy amable pero creo que les hace falta ser un poco más rápidos para el servicio al igual que la cocina está muy lento y tuvimos que esperar más de 30 minutos para los platos pequeños. Creo que van por buen camino pero les hace falta mucho trabajo en la comida y el servicio.

   Great new place . Exciting menu. Glad they now have alcohol . Good drinks and a few Mexican wines . I tried the red blend and it was delicious.

   So blown away by this seemingly unsuspecting restaurant. Inside was bright and welcoming with fun, aesthetic decor. Fantastic menu with plates perfect for sharing and good cocktails. I can’t wait to eat here again.

   The food was delicious but the service was TERRIBLE. We waited for quite a while before our server took our drink order (we basically had to flag our server down to ask to order). We then ordered our meal and were told the mole would take much longer than everything else, so they’d serve the other dishes first, but then it was the 2nd thing out. Not a problem, just weird. The food was all really good, as were the drinks. The pork shank and chicken mole were notable. However, the server never talked us through how much to order or suggestions and she never asked about allergies. One member of our party has food allergies and she ordered based on what was listed on the menu, but many dishes came with additional ingredients not listed. This is something we could have asked about, but are used to having be more proactively addressed if it could potentially be a problem. At the end of the meal, we got the bill which had a ton of extra drinks on it (like $150 too much). When we brought it to the server’s attention she said she’d have to “check the cameras because she could lose her job” as if she had no idea what our table had ordered. She disappeared for 20 minutes and then came back with the corrected check, no “thanks for waiting”. The chef/manager then came to our table to confirm they were “checking the cameras” which is what took so long. I’m sorry, but if you need to CHECK CAMERAS because your staff can’t be trusted to know what people ordered, GET NEW STAFF. After making our complaints very clear, they did take $50 off the bill, which we appreciated, but again they did nothing proactively. Total mismatch in food quality & ambiance from the level of service provided. Hopefully they can hire and train more professional team (excluding the guy filling water - he was the MVP) and the meal could be worth the cost.

   Celebrating my mom’s birthday with a delightful dinner, I was thoroughly impressed. The service and food were exceptional, earning them a perfect 10/10 rating. I highly recommend the queso fresco and camarones a la diabla.

   ISTMO has amazing, caring staff and a pleasing interior aesthetic. The cocktails were good. The food, however, was not so great. The Oaxacan Spread and Pineapple Aquachile were nice. The scallops on the mole rosa were not fresh; you could smell them as the dish was being set on the table, and they were the consistency of rubber. A lot of dishes were served with generic toasted bread; small tlayuda chips would have been much, much better. Speaking of, the tlayuda was good, but meat served with it was absolutely not tasajo, the cured beef one sees all over the state of Oaxaca, rather it was an ordinary small steak. And then, the steak doneness was not asked and ours ended up being medium (medium-rare to rare is preferred). The camarones were overcooked, and the papas bravas were hunks of potates with some seasoning; they were nothing special. I really don't like leaving reviews like this, especially since ISTMO is a small business, but the food needs to up its game. Maybe it was an off night -- accidents happen -- but our party of 4 all left in agreement that we don't really expect to return, except maybe for a cocktail in the beautiful bar area. Do note there is only wine and tequila/mezcal, plus some artisan rums and Condesa gin (which is an excellent gin, btw); ISTMO does not have a full bar with the usual suspects. This was fine for us since we enjoy these, but for some it might be a surprise.

   Amazing experience at Itsmo. The service here was phenomenal - my water glass was never empty, and our waitress Mesli was so kind and wonderful. Highly recommend the seafood options - my fiancé got the cod which cut like butter, and I got the shrimp, for which the seasoning was great and overall just a solid dish. Will be back!
