Il Pesce is a walk-in only restaurant that offers a true counter-to-table experience - we cook what we sell, and we sell what we cook. Our chefs will be serving the same fish you see at our fishmonger counter! All our seafood is responsibly sourced by suppliers who help ensure that our seafood is caught in ways that consider the long term vitality of the species and the ocean.

The food was excellent. The food was delivered promptly and was hot and well prepared. The market was packed and the wait for our table was 30 mins past our reservation. Our server was prompt initially but his returns to our table became further and further apart. I don’t think there were enough wait staff on hand for the tables. The manager and bussers were on point. Definitely worth going just don’t plan on being in a hurry or go on a weekday and avoid the weekends.

I’ve eaten at other restaurants at this location and was eager to give Il Pesce a shot. The food was meh (octopus arancini and the tuna appetizer were mediocre, the scallop app was pretty good, the cavatelli with the octopus ragú wasn’t great). Service was prompt but impersonal, I won’t be back.

I have a meal at Il Pesce every time I come to NYC.I love everything about the space--the food is superb, the ambiance is invigorating, and the service staff is paramount! This Saturday afternoon, I came with two friends. We ordered the warm grilled Ceasar, which is so terrific, and a tuna tartare to start. For main courses, we got a truffle pasta--just exquisite!--and a cod, roasted to perfection, in a light and so very fresh tomato sauce with giant capers. It was so delicious! We dipped the fresh and mushy/crusty bread into the sauce and savored every last bit of it! We had a great table in the corner. We loved the holiday spirit and all the people watching, yet it was roomy and we were able to have an intimate conversation. Our waitperson was so gracious, attentive, warm, and accommodating. We couldn't have been happier! It's always a truly delightful and ultimately satisfying experience dining at Il Pesce. Thank you!!

Food was okay! Not great. My pasta was very dry and bland. The wine was excellent though. My husband got salmon and he liked them! The place is very pricey!

If we chose a pre-fixe menu, it does not mean that the dishes in it should be so tasteless. I understand that you are counting on tourists who came once and left, but as New Yorkers living in this city - we will not come to this restaurant again.
