IL FORNELLO, 214 King Street West located directly across from Roy Thomson Hall and steps from the Royal Alex and Princess of Wales Theatres is perfect for pre-theatre dining. Even the Rogers Centre, CN Tower and Ripley’s Aquarium are but a short walk away. IL FORNELLO introduced Toronto to Wood-Oven Baked Pizzas and still makes the best Pizzas in the neighbourhood, from the classic Margherita to the popular Pepperoni to the gourmet Fig. There are Appetizers, Salads and Pastas aplenty with some favourites being Bruschetta, Grilled Calamari, Arugula & Beet Salad, Linguini di Mare, Penne Pollo Pesto and Gnocchi Gorgonzola. Braised Lamb Shank, Pan Seared Atlantic Salmon or Chicken Breast stuffed with Asiago Cheese are three of the Entrées available and the Dessert Selection featuring Tiramisu is a perfect way to end your meal. The wine and spirits list is extensive and the servers are expert at making sure you enjoy a relaxed, unhurried dinner and still make it to the theatre on time.

The Mirvish Parking Garage beneath The Princess of Wales Theatre is accessed at 96 John Street. There is limited street parking on King St. after 6.00 pm.
Public transit
IL FORNELLO is one block west of the St Andrews Subway station on the University line. If you are traveling by Street Car, we are located at the Simcoe Street Stop on the King line.

we went for my belated birthday lunch. It was ok. the panini was fine, i didn't really care for the taste of the beef. The sauce on the sandwich was too mustardy. I didn't care for the tirimisou as there was butterscotch sauce on that. who does that?

For some reason the restaurant wasn't aware or prepared for my arrival although I did make a reservation.

My friend and I went to this restaurant for dinner and i had the salad and pizza and she had the soup and salmon. The food was ok but I have had better elsewhere. The service wasn't very quick and the sorbet we had tasted like orange peels. The food wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either.

My friend and I went for summerlicious. We were very happy with both of our meals. It's tasty and very filling. I absolutely loved my tiramisu.

I participated in Summerlicious at Il Fornello for lunch. For $18 I had an AMAZING meal. I tried the mussels, pizetta of the day, and tiramisu. It was all amazing and very filling for the price paid. Service was also very professional and relatively quick.

The server could have been a little gentle with the plates when tabling our food. The servers did not have any consideration for the diners sitting close to the station where the dirty dishes were placed. VERY NOISY. I have another reservation on July 18th I will make sure that I do not have the same server or be seated in the same area.
