Located in the historic Fulton Market district of Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood, il Carciofo is a Roman Italian restaurant drawing inspiration from the restaurants and markets in one of Chef Joe's favorite cities, Rome. The restaurant offers a seasonal menu of elevated yet familiar Italian fare with traditional antipasti, Roman-style pizzas, hand-rolled pastas produced daily in a dedicated pasta lab and market-driven mains that highlight the season's bounty.

Everything we tried was delicious! We especially liked the artichoke and the lamb appetizers. The pastas were cooked to perfection. Erik, our server, was attentive and helpful explaining the different dishes. We gave him an A+.

Great meal at this beautiful new restaurant Apps were wonderful - Burrata, Lamb and the Cod were all very delicious. The Pastas were very tasty, cacio e Pepe and the tagliatelle. Saltimbocca and Pork nice, a bit dry... The noise level is high, but will be returning.

Joe Flamm did it again. His restaurants feel like the perfect place to gather with friends while not feeling like a stuffy table cloth places where you can’t relax. Service is mindful but not over bearing. We ordered 10 plates and didn’t have one I didn’t like - the gelato to end the meal is a must

No bad dishes, but also no great dishes aside from their namesake dish. Presentation was amazing. Unfortunately, nothing tasted as good as it looked.

First time dining here and it was an amazing experience. Our server Katelyn went through the menu with us and made some great recommendations. Everything came out perfectly timed and hot. Drinks were delicious and vibes were on point. The stand outs for me were Tagliatalle, Rosso, Carciofo. Dessert was also great especially with a cappuccino.

We had high expectations and were so excited to try this place, and it just didn’t live up to the hype. The food was fine, but nothing special and seemed incredibly overpriced.

Comprehensively a fabulous dinner. Food, service (Jaclyn, you are phenomenal), ambiance/environment…all highly impressive. Chef Flamm graced us with his conversation and personality table side and that was certainly special. Will return soon, can’t wait for another opportunity to dine like a royal Roman.
