Iconic is an American restaurant located inside the DoubleTree Hotel Utica at 102 Lafayette St in Utica, NY.

The restaurant and bar were completely renovated in 2017. The inspiring 1912 architecture was retained, but the ambiance is urban contemporary. The bar serves high quality artisan cocktails and a variety of wines and beers.

Our innovative menu contains local favorites and dishes that strive to become the new local favorites! Our culinary team varies the menu to reflect the seasons and current dining trends.

The restaurant is absolutely beautiful and the service was OK. The food however is the reason for the rating. We ordered the greens, the cheesy garlic bread, and the bang bang cauliflower for appetizers. The greens were not fresh and they were covered with about a half an inch of cheese on top that was not only overcooked but hard and cold as were the greens underneath. The cheesy garlic bread somehow managed to be both burnt and cold all at once as well as the sauce that it was served with was ice cold however, the bang bang cauliflower was outstanding, and it was actually kind of warm! Cauliflower was the winner! 10/10 on the cauliflower!!! Then we decided to split an entrée. We had their special which I don’t recall what they named it but it was a pounded out chicken breast that was so thin and so dry that you couldn’t cut it with a steak knife, covered in cheese and meat, which was on top of a undercooked fettuccine with peas and some kind of weird cheese sauce …I don’t know. It was disgusting. I won’t be going back. And I’ve given them multiple opportunities and once in a while, it’s OK but most of the time it’s been awful and it cost me $127 but to be fair that was with tip and another couple was with us and they each ordered their own entrées, but there was no alcohol. So it’s a no for me.

The food was delicious. However, all of our meals were not really hot enough. The service was fantastic. The ambience was fantastic. It’s a beautiful place. Drinks are overpriced! Meals slightly overpriced for the amount of food you receive. Bread should be served on the table. You should not have to buy it.

We had a fantastic waitress and the food is amazing, but we miss the garlic bread with sauce that used to be served

Anna, thank you for taking the time to review your dining experience. We are so happy that you enjoyed your experience. We have brought the garlic bread and sauce back. The bread and sauce are served with the Utica Greens starter and the Meatballs starter. It can also be purchased as a separate starter.

This is a beautiful restaurant in an historical Utica hotel. The food is outstanding with top notch service. Our waitress, Jackie, was very attentive and friendly. I would highly recommend this place!

Waited quite a while for drinks at the bar. At first there was no bartender. After waiting almost 10 minutes, she arrived. Food was good. Server was friendly.

Hello Ken, thank you for choosing to dine at Iconic. We appreciate your business. We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed your meal. I did go back to our camera footage after reading your review and saw that you were served drinks 6 minutes after walking up to the bar. The bartender was there but had monetarily stepped away to pick up a food order in the kitchen for a bar guest. Ideally, a food runner would have done that for her, but that person was also busy elsewhere. We apologize for the wait.
