Food is very good, service was slow. Waiter was nice but not super friendly just enough to get by. The food took so long to come out so it ruined the mood some. It was nice they puta birthday card on the table when you sat. The old fashioned should be made with a ice ball for better quality

As a native, I know the many amazing options available in Sarasota. I chose Hyde Park hoping for a warm fun atmosphere perfect for my guests in for Thanksgiving. However, I was quickly disappointed from the start. I had previously sat outside which I enjoyed, but this visit, we sat inside. The ambiance felt out dated and old. There was no feeling of edginess or modern elegance. The hostess was unfriendly and never smiled. Once sat, service was painfully slow. Waiting for at least 10 minutes before someone came to the table. It took even longer for water and at least 15 minutes before our first drinks arrived. Many of the drinks were not made as ordered and had to be sent back. No bread or other items were offered during this wait. Finally, my husband had to go ask for our server to come to the table, so we could order food. The server also didn’t clear the unused wine glasses, etc. for an expensive steak house, service was very poor. Finally, our appetizers arrive. Excited to try, I was disappointed immediately with flavor. Steak was 4/5, lobster bisque was standard. Nothing exceptional here. French fries were hard and seemed over done or old. Very unimpressed with the flavor. I wish I would have chosen one of my other favorites to take my wonderful family to, such as Selva, Sage, Conner’s or many of the other excellent options in our city. I write this hoping that management will do better, train their staff better and bring better vibrancy to our city worth envying.
