Bringing Southern comfort food to the heart of South Boston, Hunter's Kitchen + Bar is brought to you by the same team as neighborhood staples Lincoln & Capo. Executive Chef Lambert Givens serves up southern-inspired classics like his signature gumbo, chicken & waffles, and smoked meats. Behind the bar, Hunter's has a wide range of beers, whiskeys, and craft cocktails.

Hunter's has live music Sunday - Thursday beginning at 9 PM, and Friday at 5pm, Saturday at 3pm, and Sunday at 2pm.

It was listed as a top place to go for Christmas decorations and it hardly had any you could see.

We started with the biscuits and let’s just say there the best i’ve had in a while! Good food and vides.

We came on a Sunday in mid-December, around 5:30 PM. The restaurant was VERY busy, partly due to the holidays. There was a line outside and they were only letting people in a few at a time. NOTE: If you have a reservation, you don’t have to wait in line outside. Once inside, it was very loud from all the people hanging around the bar, and packed to the point it was hard to move around. Lighting was quite dark and hard to see at times. We were eventually sat at our table, but it took quite some time (maybe 15 minutes) before someone showed up to take our order. Once our food arrived, service seemed to pick up better. The food was FANTASTIC. We got the brisket melt and the fried chicken and waffles. The brisket was nice and juicy! It’s not listed on the menu, but all sandwiches come with a side! I opted for the potato salad, which was a nice refreshing complement to my melt. The chicken was fried well, and the waffles were light and fluffy, with a hint of lavender. I would definitely come back again and try more of their food! However, if noisy crowds are a problem, try to avoid coming on the weekends!

Love the atmosphere here and they do a great job decorating for the holidays. It is a great low-key bar with neighborhood vibes. The food and service are good too

I had a reservation for 4 at 12:30. The table wasn’t ready for 45 minutes and then they told us they were no longer serving food due to a gas fire in the kitchen. They should have told us that right away so we didn’t waste time waiting.

Hunters is always a cozy vibe. The atmosphere is like you’re in a cozy cabin. And right now currently it’s decorated for Christmas. The food was amazing, I recommend the pimento brisket sliders. As well as the famous gumbo. Chef Lambo really lockdown, southern comfort food. Whenever I have friends craving really good southern food I always recommend hunters.
