From scrambled eggs, at breakfast, to your lunchtime salad and roast dinner, you can be confident that the food you buy from Horsley Lodge has been sourced locally from the best suppliers we know and trust – the head chef makes it his business to get to know the farmers.

So, whether it’s our meat, poultry, eggs, or fresh fruit and veg, we know where our food comes from, and who has grown or reared it.

Everyone is welcome to come to Horsley Lodge and dine in our Farmhouse Kitchen restaurant with amazing views from the floor-to-ceiling windows. Or on warmer days enjoy lunch on our terrace as you watch the golfers tackle the 9th hole.

There was a considerable wait between being seated and the arrival of a menu, drinks and dinner. There seemed to be several young staff fetching and delivering plates and chatting rather than cruising the room to make sure everyone had what they needed. The best part of my Sunday lunch was the gravy and red cabbage which were both lovely, the beef was hit and miss with some parts too chewy to digest whilst other parts tasty. I was disappointed to only receive one carrot and one parsnip. The potatoes looked and tasted like frozen to oven. This plate of food was £22 which I thought was over priced. My husband had a different experience with the turkey dinner, he had pigs in blankets, stuffing, and a Yorkshire pudding. He said his dinner was filling and enjoyable. He would return however I wouldn’t rush back.

Our family went to celebrate our Dads heavenly birthday. It’s was his special place 🙏🏼 All staff went the extra mile to make sure we had a lovely evening making us feel comfortable knowing it was a hard day for us. The food was cooked to perfection too.

Sunday Lunch for 5. Booked via Open table. When we arrived they had no record of our booking for 5. They then said that booking system doesn’t talk to theirs! So they accepted us. None of the pumps were working due to a flood in the cellar (not their fault). The staff seemed very young and inexperienced but smiley. We asked for a drinks list or wine list, they had one somewhere but no one could find it! Think they guessed the price of the bottle of wine we ordered as it had disappeared off the computer. It was cosy inside on a miserable day, so we sat chatting and enjoying our drinks after ordering from the set menu. We realised almost an hour had gone by and they arrived with our mains. We hadn’t had our starters!!! They said the chef thought we’d had them. They came back with the mains and suggested we bypass our starters and they would give us a discount. What choice did we have? To be fair the food was fabulous! We all really enjoyed it. One of our party asked for a glass of Prosecco. The waitress announced it would be free and would everyone like one as we should have been given one as part of our lunch. Lucky we asked. The desserts were equally delicious. We were given 10% off which seemed a bit on the mean side after the VERY poor service. We eventually went up to the bar to pay as we couldn’t catch anyone’s eye to pay. I’d be interested to know what the issue was? The food was amazing and we’d love to return but we haven’t got 3 hours every Sunday to not eat all the food we ordered….
