   I had fish and chips at the Holiday Inn. The fish was a little greasy for my taste. My dining partner was very pleased with her meal however.

   Despite booking with Open Table and confirming with Open Table the day before our arrival that we still required the table, Holiday Inn Southampton had no record of our reservation. It is pointless making a forward booking with Open Table when Holiday Inn Southampton do not honour the reservation.

   Perfect quayside location with easy access to cruises and town. Staff are great but the food is just okay. Nice and pleasant. Nothing to Moan about just unfortunately nothing to shout about either

   Service was very disorganised and long wait in between courses. They didn't even have a record of our open table booking. Had to get up and find someone to pay at the end. They seemed to have run out of a lot of things and second attempt at a starter order of tomato soup turned up as leek and potato. The waiter not having noticed still announced it as tomato soup. There was apparently no mustard of any description on site. Food quality that we did get was OK, we noticed lots of other diners getting Brussels sprouts, even with gammon and eggs, as that was the only veg they had left at 6.30 in the evening. We stay and eat at Holiday Inn as its a very convenient location and the food is reasonable quality whatever it may be

   We stayed just for 1 night at the hotel to see a show in the city , we booked the dinner , bed and breakfast package. It was great value for money , 3 course meal all selected of menu , freshly cooked and good quality. Would do it again .

   Sadly the customer service at reception was non existent. They weren't rude but they weren't helpful either. Definite training need for reception staff.

   When we arrived we were told that they were not involved in Open Table—and that was after a message from the hotel to say that we needed to book through Open Table to reserve dinner. Staff did not greet and one in particular was extremely abrupt in everything. Some dinner options on the very limited menu were not available. Service charge was added to bill with no notice whatsoever. Had to stand and wait several minutes, with no staff in sight anywhere, to pay bill. Food was pricey but very good, spoilt only by poor service by senior dining room staff.
