Higher Ground is a British bistro and bar located in Manchester city centre that focuses on seasonality within the UK using produce sourced from local suppliers and producers.

The restaurant is open Wednesday to Saturday at dinner and at lunchtime on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

At lunch a £40pp seasonal sharing menu is offered alongside an à la carte menu. At dinner, both an à la carte and a seasonal sharing menu at £58pp are available. Both menus are available when sat at the kitchen bar counter.

We often hold space for walk-ins at the kitchen bar counter so pop by and have some plates and a glass of wine!

Reservations of up to twelve guests are accepted via the OpenTable online reservation platform. For parties of 7x guests and over, the seasonal sharing menu is served.

    Great ambience, fabulous food and although it was a really busy service, we didn't feel rushed or neglected at any stage. Catered for the wide range of needs in our group with food that, while beautifully presented, was very much focussed on great taste. We all left feeling well fed and enjoyed the drinks menu too. Will definitely be going back.

    Absolutely wonderful. A great venue with a relaxed vibe. All the staff were friendly and attentive (but not too attentive). The food is delicious, and you can tell they really care about the quality, sustainability, and presentation. An extensive wine list to boot. Looking forward to going again sometime.

    Great food, great knowledge of staff with wines & food cooked to a high standard. The open kitchen is great to see too.

    Went on Saturday night and had the set menu and every single dish was a standout. On top of that every member of staff we interacted with was so lovely too - really friendly and personable whilst still being knowledgeable and attentive. I’ve been before but this time was another level. Thankyou so much :)

    Absolutely brilliant food, every item tasty almost to perfection. No compromise on the non-meat dishes either, excellent standard and quality. Staff attentitive, knowledgeable and friendly all night - no tailing off when they got bored/tired! Bar-like vibe with restaurant-quality eating. Highly recommended, even if they do charge you for the table water!
