A really nice and tasty Sunday lunch. Starter selection wasn’t really as appealing or varied as expected but still nice

Loved the food and the ambience at Heaney’s. We had the shared taster menu which was sumptuous and just the right amount to send you into a food coma of sorts. Our waiter Cameron was very polite, courteous and informative. Highly recommend this place.

Lunch. Not busy - 3 tables, but service was too slow. Vegan menu portions are tiny and very expensive for vegetables. Wine by the glass is way too expensive. Background music is intrusive. Why do restaurants persist? Especially when they have wooden floors, etc. On the plus side, the set lunch menu was excellent - the oxtial starter and hake in batter were both delicious. Portions are a bit small. I would have liked a few chips too. Service was friendly - just too slow between the main and dessert. Sometimes this is appropriate, but diners should be asked. I had to prompt.

A birthday lunch on a Tuesday, only 3 tables taken so ambience probably much better on weekend evening. Wonderful food - unexpected flavours and beautifully presented. Excellent wine and great service. Not cheap but worth the money. We all had the tasting menu which was very enjoyable. Highly recommended.

Another fantastic Sunday lunch at Heaneys. Food was excellent as always and the staff are so helpful and accommodating. Our favourite lunch in Cardiff! Thank you all

We went for a Sunday lunch. Service was good throughout, there was no delay with our courses coming on time. We had an extra taster of clam crevice , which was delicious in addition to the 3 courses. Starters and desserts were very tasty and the portion size was right. I was surprised to have two potato dishes with main course ( roast and mashed). All our meats were ideal in texture and taste. Carrots lovely. The Yorkshire pudding however was cold and hard and large. My partner thought he was ordering an Argentinian Mendoza Malbec wine but it was an Argentinian combination of grapes including Malbec so he was disappointed (it was clearly described as a combination of grape wine on the menu and the waitress did point out the NZ alternative Malbec. My biggest bugbear was the pop music playing in the background. I asked if it could be changed to something quieter or classical but told it wasn’t possible. However I think the noise level was turned down though later it seemed a bit louder. I would go back for the food again but not for the music...

The restaurant felt cold & it wasn’t a particularly cold evening!.. The staff that served us where helpful & friendly. The food was very tasty!.. the wine was very drinkable but expensive!.. the cocktails where great!.. would go again but will have to save my money!

Seasonal, inventive food served in smart but comfortable surroundings. Definitely try the tasting menu - you won’t be disappointed.
