Centrally located in Uptown Charlotte, Haymaker Restaurant, from Chef Chris Coleman, brings locally inspired and seasonal food to the Queen City. Our kitchen reinterprets the bounty of the piedmont area and Appalachia, and explores our foodways, both historic and present across our region. Our classic American lounge serves local brews, fine wines, and handmade cocktails. Dine & drink in our bar & lounge, main dining room, mezzanine, or sidewalk patio all overlooking beautiful Romare Bearden Park in the heart of Charlotte.

Please note that Haymaker is a two-story restaurant with stairs. Please contact the restaurant if you require first floor dining.

We went knowing that haymaker was closing soon and we’ve always enjoyed the brunch there. Today, out of all the times we have been, was probably the worst experience. First of all, it was absolutely freezing in the restaurant- one hair away from seeing your breath! The food was not it’s usual caliber either. The biscuit I had was semi raw and the eggs were not the usual beautiful scramble that I normally get. Chinzy and cold and definitely not prepared the usual way. Maybe it’s because things are winding down or because there was a Panthers game but the temperature thing alone was not good. Sarah, our server though was attentive and good. We wish you all the very best in 2025 as Haymaker transitions to closed.

Incredible find in Uptown. Great tapas style restaurant with awesome cocktails and a very friendly staff. Our server was well versed in the menu options and drinks. We will definitely be back!

Understaffed and overpriced. Only two waitresses and three people in the kitchen on a Saturday night. Reservation was at 5:45, seated at 6:15, ordered an app that never came. Main course arrived in hour after we ordered. $30 for a 5 oz flank steak. $26 for a burger. Won’t be back.

Terribly understaffed. 90 minutes and we got one drink and appetizer. Left before we got the main course because we weren’t sure we were ever going to get it.

Sadly I don’t normally write reviews. The waiter was wonderful. Food was cold or over cooked but the catalyst was they charged a credit card fee. We had a party of 11 and needed to split 3 ways and they charged us a 3% credit card fee on top of the food tax and service charge. Eating out is expensive and hard enough to be charged of fee to use your card to pay is extremely disappointing

It's something we are actively working to undo, but at this time we are unable to remove it from our operating software. I'm so sorry this colored your experience and also that you experienced some food quality issues as well. We would love to see you again and make this right.
