Hawksmoor Wood Wharf is housed in an eco-friendly floating pavilion in a new riverside neighbourhood in Canary Wharf. Gently rising and falling with the tide, the main restaurant at dock-level is joined by a 120-seat waterside bar. Both include terraces with views across the water (squint your eyes and you might just see the ghosts of great ships laden with mighty lengths of timber that used to swing in and unload there). There's also a private dining room for up to 20 people named after the local legend Queenie Watts, a singer, songwriter, actor and self-confessed bawdy landlady (think Peggy Mitchell meets Joni Mitchell). The menu revolves around the best British produce the country has to offer with grass-fed dry-aged ethically reared beef, sustainable seafood from the South coast and some of the biggest hits from the Hawksmoor New York menu.

The festive season at Hawksmoor is all about going big. Sharing steaks. Magnums. All the sides. We know some of you like to make a little space for healthier choices in the new year. So, we’re easing you into 2025 with a lunch option that’s good for the body, mind, and bank balance. For January only, enjoy a lean Rump steak and a virtuous side – English lettuce salad, Spinach, Sweet potatoes or (no judgement) indulge with our Beef dripping chips or Caesar salad – for £19.50.

Well… The food was great , underwhelmed by the service as me and my partner had to wait 1hour and 15 minutes for our food. In the time people had eaten their and were in to their desserts. I can understand that it was new years eve and it was busy, however a waiter didn’t even come to check up on us or to offer us another drink within that time. Quite annoyed as this was for a my 1year anniversary. Also disappointed as we booked the restaurant under recommendation.

Food is always fantastic, as is the service. We are regulars at Borough location. But this was our first time at Wood Wharf. We enjoyed the meal, the service and the ambiance. The cocktails were not great though. I always get Vespers and every time they are perfection. Last night, I had to send one back it was so bad and my final one was borderline bad too :(

We attended Hawksmoor Wood Wharf and were very underwhelmed. We ordered chateubriand 500g for two and it was very disappointing. The steak was chewy and had not much flavour and the portion size was very small compared to other steak restaurants we have been to. The Bill was very expensive and we did not feel like it was good value for money.

We had the shared Porterhouse which was really good. All the sides were lovely too. Would recommend.

We came with a specific aim to try one dish and had restricted time too. One person with dietary requirements. When we finished eating the main (which was tasty), the waiter suggested other options to us, but we did not want any. To which the waiter’s response was “how about tap water, it is free?” which spoiled our New Year’s Eve experience completely. Disappointed. Will not be back.

The best steak in the UK. I really enjoy the food, service and atmosphere at the restaurant. The only thing, for bone marrow starter I would add more bread. But overall, one of my favourite restaurants in London.
