The festive season at Hawksmoor is all about going big. Sharing steaks. Magnums. All the sides. We know some of you like to make a little space for healthier choices in the new year. So, we’re easing you into 2025 with a lunch option that’s good for the body, mind, and bank balance. For January only, enjoy a lean Rump steak and a virtuous side – English lettuce salad, Spinach, Sweet potatoes or (no judgement) indulge with our Beef dripping chips or Caesar salad – for £19.50.

Very reliably good produce every time, with excellent service. Good quality beef, well cooked medium rare which was a good idea for chateaubriand. Creamed spinach was well seasoned, bitter salad had some nice touches of blue cheese and apple and excellent bread. Very good red wine pairing. I use this restaurant regularly for olde worlde atmosphere of a warehouse next to borough market as it’s nice and warm inside on a winter’s night. Service was very efficient and knowledgeable.

I love the building & interior design. It’s stunning and embraces the riverside/dock feel. Very elegant inside. Service was very friendly and helpful. We went for the lunch rump steak & side deal for £19. Steak cooked to perfection. Chips great. Peppercorn sauce great. Perfect steakhouse.

The food fell short of expectations, but the service was great. I expressed my disappointment with my steak to the waiter, as a third of it was gristle. He offered me and my friend a free dessert, which we declined; when the bill came he waived the cost of my steak completely, and sent me an email offering desserts on the house should we return. Mistakes happen, but it’s how you deal with them that counts. Our waiter had just dealt with a complaint from a neighbouring table about [perceived rudeness] one of his colleagues which was obviously embarrassing, but he was a consummate professional both in his dealings with them, and with us. I actually felt sorry for him, spending his day firefighting issues beyond his control.

Food was amazing, went for Sunday roast. Got there at 4:30,(they guarantee roast until 5pm) and some cuts were already gone. Still had a perfect roast, great trimmings. Mixologist was fabulous, table service though a bit lackluster mainly in customer service orientation. Yet she was quite efficient. Overall highly recommend

Highly recommend the Borough Hawksmoor, lovely restaurant, outstanding service and food. Even a really friendly welcome and very understanding reception team when I had to advise of travel delays (no jubilee line!). All in all a beautiful birthday lunch -- all of the food was delicious. Our waiter was the best too! Thanks all!

Our waiter was excellent. I didn’t catch his name but his attention to detail was phenomenal. He made our experience that extra bit special by recognising a birthday we hadn’t mentioned. Food was delicious too!
