Del equipo editorial de OpenTable: El célebre chef Marcus Samuelsson se crio en Suecia, aunque tiene raíces etíopes. We ordered breadbasket tuna tartare and salmon for the table. All excellent! We also loved our main dishes- pasta fish and mushroom curry. Our waiter Axel took great care of us!! Interesting food in an interesting space!!

The menu was ecclectic. Highly recommend the blue cornbread, tuna tartare and the wild mushroom curry. We tried several of their cocktails. Favourites were Express Yourself and Hav & Martini. For a large restaurant, it was surprisingly quiet. Servers were attentive. Definitely recommend.

This place is spectacular -- a true hidden gem. My wife and I honestly didn't know what to expect from Swedish/Ethiopian fusion (!), but we were intrigued enough to try it. Now we can't wait to come back. The flavors were amazing and unique. We shared cornbread, BBQ cauliflower, mushroom curry and a very generously-sized half chicken. Everything was cooked to perfection and we savored every bite. The service was excellent -- friendly and attentive. The ambiance is fun, modern, upbeat, comfortable and not at all pretentious. Prices are very reasonable for NY. Hav & Mar isn't just our favorite Swedish/Ethiopian restaurant, it has become our favorite restaurant in NY.

Delicious, creative food. One dish came cold and was quickly and apologetically replaced. Cocktails were exceptional too. Loved it!

The ambience was very nice. We chose the chef choice menu first course of breakfast, salad and ceviche was excellent. The main entree the red snapper and coconut rice I enjoyed. However the pasta dish was on the salty side. I did not enjoy it. The take on banana tiramisu was unpalatable we had to return it. In exchange we got the pumpkin donuts which was yummy. However if you don’t have desert it’s completely fine. The service was impeccable. Staff was friendly and attentive.
