The food was good as always, the lamb skewers were incredibly tender and delicious. My negative ratings are; - Expensive. The cost per person have increased significantly since my last visit (an increase of circa £10 per person). - Self serve. The restaurant is now operating as a self serve, this removes the nice ambiance that the restaurant previously had and makes it feel like a cheap buffet. I suspect this is also the reason for the massive increase in cost. We are essentially paying for food items we are not even eating! - Hard to get service. It was difficult to flag down a waiter and the service button by the table did not work either. - Uneven hotpot. Only the right side of the hotpot was boiling, whilst the left side never came up to a boil which meant it took a lot longer for the food to get cooked.

We travelled from Nottingham to Birmingham for hotpot because Happy Lamb is the best. Great selections of foods and drinks, nice atmosphere and food service at very affordable prices. We’ve been there many times and always happy with the whole experience. Shame we live in Nottingham.

This was our first hot pot experience and certainly won't be our last! There were so many options to choose from and the broth was amazing. I would recommend this option to anyone as a brilliant alternative to the standard buffet dinner.

This is our first time back since the renovations and menu change. Love the buffet and condiments counter. They still have the Mongolian lamb skewers but not the crispy spring onion pancakes. I wish they could bring those back.

Incredibly good value for money. Great range of food. Perfect level of spice. Healthier options of fruit veg, fish, tofu available. The red meats are incredible (bit less healthy, but perfect for occasions). Ice cream machine really good. The bottom drink options were great. The toilets were lovely and clean. Will definitely be coming back. The box of tissues they leave on the table very handy. Instructions for cooking times useful.

Really love the spricy soup base for the hotpot! The price is really acceptable! And there is a waitress is really helpful!
