Ever since our great Aunt Bebe starting selling hamburgers and beer on her back porch during Prohibition, Hackney's has been making people happy!

Today we're famous for our big juicy Hackneyburgers on Hackney's Dark Rye® and our one-of-a-kind Hackney';s Original French Fried Onions®. Prohibition may be over, but our beer selling days are not. Hackney's has an ever-changing list of tap beers along with a full-service bar that can whip up any cocktail you can think of.

After checking in at the host stand, and asking to be seated in the bar area, we had to find a server, then someone got us drinks, but we had to get out own menus. Then a different server took our oder. Both were very friendly. The classic Hackneyburger did not disappoint but the cheese was not even melted...the French Dip was really small...not even a normal size piece of bread. Fries and onion loaf were perfect!

First off was very bummed they changed the menu and two of our favorite burgers are no longer on the menu Inside out burger and Bison burger It shows them on the menu online and that is what we drove there for. The menu was a lot smaller. Told they want to have one menu for both locations. Bad mistake The burgers were suppose to be medium rare and the cam out well and non juicy. One member ask for fries well cooked but all the fries for all four of us came on one plate. And she never got her fries. The fries were not hot either Overall the service was fair and the food was underwhelming. Shocked because last month it was great.

Unfortunately, despite the atmosphere, the food here is below average the service was just okay. Burgers arrived cold, were distributed wrong so we took bites of the wrong temperatures. Service was started by a wonderful waitress and then they changed us to someone else, who was not very cordial, perhaps even annoyed we were there. I would not recommend it for the value. Unless you’re going for the fried onions, those are quite good. The upside is the Christmas carolers were charming.

Service was poor. Drinks were flat and not mixed well. Food quality was below standard. This place has lost it way. They are a legacy that survives on familiarity, not quality. They are going through the motions, pretending to be a great local place.

Outstanding service and food! We had a tight schedule as we were heading to see a holiday play and our server was aware of this and got us in and out on time! Bloody Mary’s and burgers were outstanding too.

We went for the Glenbrook South Chamber Singers roving singers performance. Very worthwhile if you can still see them this season or maybe next year .
