Guard & Grace is thrilled to be putting a stake in Houston with its second outpost, and first outside of Denver. Debuting in Fall 2019, the 15,000-square-foot destination will serve as a new culinary anchor for downtown’s landmark Allen Center. In addition to award-winning cuisine and cocktails, striking interiors and warm Texas hospitality, guests will enjoy an array of private dining spaces for meetings, events and celebrations, plus a temperature-controlled wine cellar complete with wine lockers to squirel away your own “reserve” bottles.

La carne suave y de buen sabor pero excesivamente condimentada. La mesera pésima. El personal de Cocina que traía platos y bebidas fantástico.

Buen ambiente,lugar muy lindo,la comida buena pero tuvimos la mala suerte de que nos atendiera un mesero pésimo,tuvimos que varias veces pedir ayuda a otros meseros para que nos trajera bebidas,hice una orden que nunca me trajo,además de traerme una orden incorrecta ….pero el sitio es bueno en general solo nos toco un mal mesero !

Jose was our server on a Monday night and made our evening a wonderful experience! The food and the ambiance were exceptional. This was our first time at the Houston location, and it lives up to the G&G standard!

We visited Guard and Grace to celebrate a milestone birthday. The ambiance was really nice and the staff were wonderful. However...the food left a lot to be desired. There were 6 of us and we ordered a lot of food. Most of us ordered a steak and one person ordered the mushroom ragu. For the sides we got the crab fried rice, asparagus, mac-n-cheese (no add-ins), smashed potatoes, and Brussel sprouts. We also ordered cocktails and wine. The steaks were great and so were our drinks. The mushroom ragu wasn't what my friend thought it would be based on pictures she saw. It looked more like lightly sauteed mushrooms vs. a ragu of mushrooms. The dish also contained collard greens (and a lot of it), which was not listed as a main ingredient of the dish. She brought this to the servers attention and he addressed it with the chef. The did comp her meal. The sides...the best side was the smashed potatoes. HANDS DOWN! They were buttery, crispy and very well seasoned. The mac-n-cheese was way too thick, the crab fried rice was too sweet and you could barely see the crab (it was more like shredded crab), and the sprouts and asparagus were just okay. Overall we had a wonderful time celebrating my friend's birthday and our server Kennedy even sang to her. He has an amazing voice! And although it was dinner time, he was able to bring us some of their chocolate chip cookies that he raved to us about. And they did not disappoint! They were ooey and gooey and warm. It was the perfect way to end our night at Guard and Grace! I would only go back just for the cookies, smashed potatoes, a cocktail, and Kennedy as my server.

Service was good but felt like whomever passed by would service your table. It left the impression that your main table waiter was not very attentive. Food, well, a $95 ribeye was anything but. Chewy and really needed a serrated knife to saw thru it. Had a good smoky flavor otherwise. The Mac and cheese side was almost room temperature when it arrived at the table. Seating-poor for a table for two, no elbow room and can barely fit two plates side by side. Ambiance, it has the energy I expected for a downtown dinning. Overall, it’s OK but will be pressed hard to give it another chance.

Absolutely amazing food, the appetizers to the steak and gnocchi. They tasted like fluffy pillows of heaven!

Excellent food and service. Be aware they automatically add a kitchen gratuity to your bill and it is not optional. This is in addition to whatever you choose to tip your wait staff. IMO, this should be told to diners prior to eating. They spend so much time advertising their dress code ( which no one adhered to ) yet sneak this on your bill.
