As you enter Golden Gai, you’re greeted by the warm ambiance of traditional Japanese decor fused with modern touches, creating an inviting atmosphere that is both chic and cozy. The soft glow of our stunning light fixtures over the intimate dining space, where the wooden bar top that spans the length of the space, and slate accents evoke the charm of Tokyo’s iconic Golden Gai district.

At the helm of our kitchen is Executive Chef Michael Taylor, a master of Japanese cuisine renowned for his innovative approach to flavor and presentation.                                                           Good quality food and service. Music was not too loud. You probably might need a flashlight to fully see the menu but this wasn’t an issue for me. Overall, it was a good experience with an intimate laidback atmosphere. I’d recommend for someone that enjoys sushi and other Japanese cuisine!

                                                          Great music. Great vibe. Wonderful service. Nice drink list. Good selection. Not enough offerings for vegetarians (but that’s pretty on-brand for a Japanese restaurant.) I also wasn’t a fan of the fried rice. It was salty and had a strange seasoning in it. The shrimp tempura also had some sauce on them which dominated. The tuna tataki was fantastic. Loved it! The tuna toro was very good and the crab jasmine rice was also good. The udon noodles were described by my friend as being “chaos”. Too much going on. We did not have dessert.

                                                          From start to finish—wow! We had an amazing dinner at Golden Gai at the counter. Dishes we tried: - spicy cucumber salad - ginger salad - scallop roll - rickrolld roll - salmon nigiri - toro nigiri - fried soba noodles (mushrooms were insane!) - yuzu tart for dessert Everything was stellar with unexpected flavor twists at every turn. We also loved the unique stoneware and glassware! All staff we interacted with were warm, friendly, and personable. We’ll be back!

                                                          Cool experience. Nobu-esque for sure. With just tow tables if 4 and the bar, this is going to be the hot ticket for a while. Check it out.

                                                          Overall we had a wonderful experience with one exception. One person in our part had a severe nut allergy. Our server was wonderful ensuring we knew what was safe on the food menu. However the drink the person ordered wasn’t labeled contained walnuts as decoration. Luckily everything turned out fine but that omission could have caused serious health issues.
