Golden Bear Station is an Italian American restaurant that offers a unique perspective through the lens from the owners of Animo and Mu Ramen.

Mu Ramen and Animo owners Joshua Smookler and Heidy He have received exceptional recognition, including a prestigious 2-star review from the New York Times in 2015. The New York Times also dubbed them as the best ramen in NYC, while Eater named them the best ramen in America in 2016. Animo, on the other hand, has been praised by the San Francisco Chronicle and recognized as one of Esquire's Best New Restaurant in America in 2022. Both restaurants have earned a place and acknowledgement in the Michelin guide.

Golden Bear Station strives to encompass the essence of a local establishment and a haven for aficionados of wine and gastronomy. It serves as a gathering place where individuals flock to savor pizzas, pastas and seasonal delicacies.

This is the most extraordinary local bistro with amazing food, service, ambience. The hospitality of Josh, the cook, and Heidy who runs the restaurant is totally welcoming. The food is the best in Sonoma and compares with any other locale. The energy of the place is great as everyone is enjoying themselves and it creates a happy buzz. Simply amazing....

My daughter found this gem of a place on Google to celebrate her birthday while we were on holiday in Sonoma, and we had such a nice time! The food was hearty and so delicious. The starter recommendations (oysters, mushrooms, bib salad, Manila clams) by Heidy was en point, and our pizza and pasta mains were some of the best we’ve ever tasted, perfectly al dente. The sundae dessert was gone in 60s! Service was so friendly and professional. Thank you for a lovely gastronomic experience!

Absolutely perfect in every respect. Such a warm and lovely room. Tables have ample separation. Fireplace is roaring. Hospitality and service are out of this world. The food is extraordinary...absolutely extraordinary. Don't let the prices deter you: almost all of the dishes will feed 2-3+ people. That $22 salad was way more than enough for 4 people. With multiple courses, including dessert, and wine the total was just about $75 per person. For an unforgettable meal! Worth a special trip.

Consistently one of our fave dining experiences. Food, Service, ambience are always top drawer. The owner/chef’s are personally involved at all levels, and want their guests to have the best experience. Highly recommended.
