With a name that means "cozy or nice atmosphere, but also belonging and general togetherness," gezellig invites guests to experience an elegant menu of local, seasonal cuisine using french techniques in a casual and welcoming environment. Located in Ottawa, Ontario, gezellig prepares each menu item using high-quality ingredients purchased locally. On the menu are items such as seared scallops, braised beef shortibs, potato gnocchi, beef tartare, duck breast, and wild-caught lingcod. Our classic butterfinger for dessert is a staple that has been on our menu since opening in 2012

Gezellig – Ottawa’s Best Brunch Spot Gezellig in Westboro is the perfect brunch destination for family and friends. The cozy yet elegant ambiance and delicious menu make every visit special. Highlight include Beef Breakfast Poutine, and Cinnamon Banana Bread. A must-visit for a relaxed and flavorful brunch. Reservations recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Our braised short rib was dry and chewy. Everything else was divine. We really enjoyed our evening. Thanks. Just thought you should know.

My sisters and I took my mom here for her 55th birthday. It was the first time for all of us and we were blown away by the hospitality, the service, and the delicious food. The staff seemed to work together and everyone took turns helping us choose items, topping up our wine, and bringing our dessert with a little celebratory candle. My water was always full, plates appeared and were cleared in a timely fashion, and they didn’t mind that we were taking our time and enjoying. The staff is courteous, polite, and engaged. The food is magnificent and evidently prepared with love and care. Table settings are laid out meticulously. Glasses and cutlery are polished. The lighting is gentle. They have struck a perfect balance :)

Each dish is wonderfully prepared with care! The presentation and tastes are always top notch every time we dine here. I will say, that the portion sizes have decreased in size over the last few years. With food costs rising, perhaps this is to be expected? However, other fine dining establishments are similar pricing for a 25-35% more food. So something to consider. I think that if you are looking to go with friends and share a few appetizers and main courses, this would be ideal since you can try all their wonderful options on the menu without getting too stuffed!

We went for Saturday Brunch which was two items for $28. The food was excellent as was the service. The choices were interesting and they were able to make any item vegetarian or vegan. Beverages were an additional cost so brunch for two of us with a dessert was $85. I find it on the expensive side. The portions were tapis size so if you have a big appetite it will not be enough food for you. Overall I give it a 9 out of 10.

Excellent food, we were there for the brunch menu. The portion may look small but was just enough! Our waitress was very nice and attentive. A great place to sit and catch up with friends. Definitely recommend!
