With a name that means "cozy or nice atmosphere, but also belonging and general togetherness," gezellig invites guests to experience an elegant menu of local, seasonal cuisine using french techniques in a casual and welcoming environment. Located in Ottawa, Ontario, gezellig prepares each menu item using high-quality ingredients purchased locally. On the menu are items such as seared scallops, braised beef shortibs, potato gnocchi, beef tartare, duck breast, and wild-caught lingcod. Our classic butterfinger for dessert is a staple that has been on our menu since opening in 2012

Mediocre food at best. We were reluctant to eat at another Beckta establishment due to past disappointment but gave it a try. Consistently disappointed especially in light of hype for this establishment.

I love this place. It is inviting and the service is always good. Last night my family was there for dinner and while the appetizer course was very good, virtually all of the mains were way over salted. I would still recommend this restaurant but perhaps you might want to let them know your level of salt preference.

While the lunch menu offers a good offer in terms of quality/price, the brunch doesn’t as the shares are very, very small.

As a loyal patron of this restaurant for over a decade, I have always enjoyed the food and ambiance. However, my recent visit for Christmas brunch was a huge letdown. The food portions have drastically reduced to what can only be described as a kids' menu, while the prices continue to climb. We invited friends from out of town, hoping to share a delightful meal, but instead, we were embarrassed by the meager portions. It's disheartening to see a place we once loved so much lose its value. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and makes necessary improvements.

We have an annual Christmas tradition of going to Gezellig as soon as all our kids return from away. The service is as good as any in the city. The servers are absolute pros. The food is always exactly right. They nail it every single time.

brunch was delicious, just a lot of kids around. our waitress was very lovely, and a great value for the food. overall a very nice brunch spot

Our favorite restaurant in Ottawa, both for the quality of food and the service. In addition, the wine list includes many excellent Ontario wines. It is comforting to eat in a restaurant that promotes Canadian products, served by staff who sincerely care about our experience. Thank you!

Dinner for four with the group having grilled octopus, greens and soup for starter and then braised ribs, salmon and scallops for main. Food and beverages were very nice, the service was professional and attentive as needed. Overall a very nice evening.
