I have been to this restaurant several times. I understand things have changed, but the amount of food served, and the price you pay for it has become ridiculous. The food is still amazing, and the service was spectacular. I ordered the pecking duck, which came as two small pieces of duck on maybe 1/4 cup of squash purée, with maybe two mushrooms on top of it. All for the price of $45, it has gotten ridiculous. George bistro needs to evaluate the amount of food they’re serving for the price they are charging.

I really liked the food I ordered, but I felt the prices were pretty expensive. The service was ok and the bistro itself was alright, but overall it seemed pricey. I felt the restaurant should’ve been much nicer and the service more attentive for the prices of food and drinks. Higher end prices for nothing special.

To begin on a positive note, the food was nicely prepared. Flavorful and on the whole fairly priced (exception 10.00 charge for side order of fingerling potatoes, really?!). Sadly, that is where the accolades end. 1. Be cautious of outdoor seating in winter months. On January 4th, the outdoor porch seating was full, and there was only 1 heater placed near the front door. Those on the sides of the porch, including me, had no heat source. 2. After waiting almost 40 minutes after placing our orders, our appetizer arrived along with our entrees. Normally, this would be irritating but not complaint worthy were it not for the fact that we were seated at a small bistro table for 2. There was quite literally not adequate table space for simultaneous service. Moreover, the expediter dropped the food and ran. She never asked if there was anything else we may need (e.g., cocktail sauce that I would have asked for had she even paused). 3. Irritations 1 & 2 pale in comparison to the inattentive (poor) service. Some delay was to be expected, and given wide grace, as our server had a section inside & outside. However, I watched other servers also with inside/outside sections attentively serve outside (porch) customers. After being greeted and placing our orders, my teenage son and I received one (1) server stop for a water refill and one (1) server stop when our meals were almost fully eaten, asking "how things are so far?" I politely replied and requested the check. The server dropped the check, but did not come back around to take payment. After a lengthy wait, I got the attention of a hostess and asked if she could find someone to take payment. Only at the prompting of the hostess, the server finally returned and settled our bill. There was no rudeness received or given, just apathy, and that is a shame.

George is our go to for celebration. The food is consistently excellent. Our server was knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly. It is noisy, but we really like this restaurant.

Ordered the pear ricotta appetizer. It was horrible. The meal took 45 minutes to come out. The pork chop was well cooked and very tasty as were the scallops. The prices were very high and as a result will not return.

I’ve been wanting to eat here for a while, but never had the opportunity until today. The food, service and atmosphere were all amazing. I had a burger and fries, but it was not your “basic” burger. It was fabulous! My friend had the lobster roll and enjoyed it too!
