General Public is inspired by trying to imagine what an upscale English pub would be if it had the heart of an American brasserie (and was open 11 to 11). It’s also going to signal a little bit of steakhouse, but not too much. And finally, it will look behind itself at the Black Hoof, which you will see reflected in James Santon’s menu here and there. In terms of vibe, the main floor is ‘everything’s gone green’, with lush comfortable banquette seating, warm wood, and barstools designed for long conversations over many cocktails. Upstairs you’ll find a completely different space that transports you to a peachy 80s dream. Somehow these two halves make perfect sense, and complement each other in a seamless conversation, where neither wins the argument, but you really do have to see it! See you soon!

    GP rocked. Food, cocktails and wine were all fantastic. Very attentive and considerate staff. Everything was more than worth what they’re charging. It’s also a really cool, thoughtfully designed/decorated space. Loved it all!

    Amazing!!! The mushroom schnitzel and wedge salad were incredible! Good wine options too. Bit expensive, but expected. Will be back.

    Great food and great vibe. Will definitely back. I loved the non alcoholic cocktail options. The young buck is one of the best I've had in a long time.

    Really lovely space! Our server was attentive and answered all our questions around the menu - also, gave wonderful suggestions! Our dishes were delicious.

    General Public is a newish hip spot with a good selection of small plates that are ridiculously overpriced. When I say “small”, I mean it literally. The servings are far from generous and the prices are astronomical. All that being said, the service was attentive and the wine list had an excellent selection of offerings in a decent price range. Probably won’t go back.
