Nestled in the heart of Covent Garden, our newest Gaucho location marks a return to London after a decade of regional expansion. Set within an extension of the iconic Royal Opera House, Gaucho adds a vibrant new chapter to one of the city’s most culturally rich districts.

Inspired by the artistic energy of Covent Garden and the passion of Buenos Aires' tango clubs, the design of the restaurant features striking elements that reflect both the local heritage and our Argentine roots.

On the ground floor, the atmosphere is bright and inviting—ideal for everything from Tango performances and relaxed business lunches to afternoon drinks. Downstairs, the basement offers a more intimate, theatrical experience, with rich, pleated curtain walls inspired by the dramatic red-draped stages of the West End.

It was our first time at Gaucho (Covent Garden) and it was amazing. The food was delish, beautifully presented, and nothing was too much trouble from arrival to departing. Our waiter was top notch, friendly, efficient, attentive but not overbearing. He also seemed happy in his work with a natural smile. Our favourite starter (we shared two) was the prawns - just yum! We both had sea bream with salad and chips - our white wine vinegar was served individually in little ‘pans’ with serving spoon! Great touch. We both recommend this restaurant and we shall be returning.

Great atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable and attentive staff and the steaks were up there with the best I’ve ever had. A really great evening out - nothing at all that I could be even slightly critical of.

Very unhappy with how we were treated! Ines from the reservations team was very cold and unfriendly and the team not flexible at all. She insisted they will remove the promotion if we were late even 1 minute after the 15min grace period. We had a booking at 12pm for a promotion and kindly asked to change it to 1pm or even 12:30pm but they simply refused on the false pretext that this would extend our stay past 2pm and someone else will need the table at 2pm. The joke was that the restaurant was almost empty this whole time! Another reception staff's excuse was different, that the promotion would be 'lost' if they moved the booking which again was a joke because someone else who also had a promotional booking not only did they move it to a different day but also again to a different time therefore it was possible to change it! How was that possible for them and not for me?! I book venues for corporate event and would never book Gaucho because they are not flexible at all, nor friendly or understanding. I felt that because it was a promotional booking they treated us like we were there as an inconvenience to them. We were not impressed with the food either and portions from their set lunch menu were quite small. The beef tartare tacos, for example, are much better at STK. Very disappointed overall!

Went here for date night had a brilliant waiter Zoltan who really knew what he was doing and had great recommendations! Food was gorgeous and we had such a good time- only aspect that wasn’t great was the front of house didn’t take my winter coat for some reason

The appetizer and main course was lovely and highly recommend their steak - dessert, its okay. This is not our first in Gaucho CG, service is always lovely - although slow from the kitchen but they are busy so its understandable. Overall it was a great place to dine specially if you have special occasion x
