The Garrison House, in the heart of Brookline Village, blends innovative American cuisine with a lively and social bar focusing on modern craft beer and cocktails. They had an off morning at brunch today. We have been here before and it was good, but today was not ideal. The waiter was pleasant but overwhelmed by the number of tables he was looking after. They did not have hot tea at brunch! Or cream or half and half for coffee. Twice we were served lukewarm coffee. Our order of chicken and waffles had a cold waffle. We asked for it to be heated and 10 minutes later it was returned with near burned fried chicken …and a cold waffle. Inedible. The manager was very apologetic and removed the chicken and waffle from the bill. Mistakes happen but I sure hope they get their kitchen and service team together.

They add 4% to the bill as a Hospitality Admin Fee. Not disclosed until you get the bill. When we asked what it was for, the server told us it was to smooth out if price of cucumbers went up. This is the most ridiculous rationalization I have ever heard. This is simply abusing your customers on price hoping they wont notice. The food and service were actually pretty good. BE AWARE and review your bill.

Excellent spot with several solid dishes to choose from. Quiet with a good ambiance for a weekend brunch or a dinner night.

It was a terrible experience. Low lighting menu was not up to par with what your website stated hard to find undercooked food. I usually love New England style restaurants, but this one wasn’t it. I would not recommend this to my worst friend. Hospitality was down the drain here.

Very nice restaurant, however with a group of 6 people we got seated in the basement with no other customers and then a band started playing preventing conversation. Would not have made the reservation had we known it was not in the main restaurant immediately adjacent to the band.
