   We hadn’t been to this location in a while and it was awesome. The restaurant was renovated so really nice setting and ambiance, lively but not noisy, service was fantastic as was the food. Wonderful birthday dinner for my husband and family. Thank you!

   The food was excellent. The atmosphere was nice. Had a 6pm reservation and it was quiet when we first got there. Naturally, after 7pm it got more crowded and louder, but still not too bad. The menu was a little limited, but I loved the Rigatoni al vodka. I will definitely return. Thank you.

   VALENTINES DAY RUINED. We were completely calm the entire night so restaurant likely doesn’t remember or care, but our waitress forgot to put our entree orders in and we waited over an hour before food arrived. She explained there was a “slight hiccup” and then gave a reason that didn’t make sense. But we understood it’s the busiest night of the year and we have hearts. When the food finally did arrive, one of the entrees was wrong. So we waited AGAIN for the correct entree. At this point the restaurant was almost empty. Most upsetting was after waiting m90 mins for food, while everyone around us was taken care of, when the manager came and asked how the meal was and we told him about the wait and the wrong food, instead of offering a complimentary dessert or even saying sorry, he said “I know, come back again and we’ll take better care of you, give us another chance”. I heard Gale Street inn was supposed to be famous but apparently the service standard is left to be desired. We felt like second class citizens. Ive never tipped less than 20% my entire life and for the first time ever gave 15%. We just moved from downtown Chicago and I was hoping this was going to become a regular restaurant that could replace our usual River North steakhouses. But why would we ever give them another chance? To Gale Street Inn, Please do better the next time you ruin a customers special night.

    This place is a joke. Tried to go on one of the worst nights, Valentine's day. Seated 15 minutes after our reservation. 15 minutes after being seated we saw no one except water getting filled. 2 other tables walked out due to lack of service. As another table was being told the kitchen was at capacity we decided to leave too. After trying to complain to management we were offered a drink at the bar by a chef. Instead of 2 chefs standing there doing nothing, you probably should get in the kitchen to make food. I declined the free drink, if I wanted drinks I'd be a bar, not a restaurant. Also the prices on the menu provided at the table did not match the menu by the front door, it also seemed to have less items. Price gouging for Valentine's day?
