French Quarter Bistro was opened in 2018 in the heart of Frenchtown by Ed and Amoi Foerstel due to their love of all cuisine, Cajun.

Creole is derived from the many cultures who have settled in New Orleans, including; French, Spanish, West African, Caribbean, German, Italian, and Irish. Cajun is derived from the French-speaking Acadians who settled in the bayous south of New Orleans. The influences of the French are the most prominent of both cuisines. Almost all of our Creole and Cajun dishes begin with a stock (poultry, beef, or seafood), trinity (onions, green bell peppers, celery), and a roux (blonde, brown, or dark), lending a unique flavor to our Gumbo and other dishes.

We invite you to come to taste our cuisine at French Quarter Bistro. We are not re-inventing Creole and Cajun cuisine, only sharpening it!

This is exactly what we were looking for. Fantastic food and service. Made to feel welcome among local residents and tourists alike. Great way to see more than just the resorts. Definitely would recommend to anyone.

Our server was very friendly and attentive. Food was great and the portion was generous. We got there early for dinner (5pm) and it felt like a sports bar at first. There was no kids menu but our kids (8 and 5) shared and almost finished the whole chicken Alfredo.

Great food and service! The attention to detail was fabulous, and swapping out a drink for a beer was seamless.

While our options for dining on Christmas Day were limited, we certainly didn’t feel like French Quarter Bistro needs any qualifiers for our praise. We were very happy to have found ourselves there on our first night in the Virgin Islands. The staff were friendly and the food was delicious. Would absolutely go back.

Of the four in my party, we ordered the Pork Chop, the Catfish, the Etoulle and the Salmon. The Pork Chops were fantastic, the rest very good. We had Bananas Foster Bread Pudding and Beignets for dessert. The bread pudding was really good (according to my son), whereas we thought the beignets were a little bland. We also had French Onion soup which was outstanding. The restaurant was a little loud, our waiter was a bit gruff, but the food made up for it!

First off, best French Onion soup ever! We’ve tried many because it’s one of our favorite soups! The rest of the meal was just as fantastic. The drinks were strong! Definitely one of the best meals on the island! I highly recommend making this place one of your stops while on St. Thomas!

The restaurant made last minute adjustments when we added two more people to our party at the last minute. They were very accommodating and the rest of the evening was equally enjoyable. The food was excellent and the service attentive.

Our party of 6 had an amazing meal at the French Quarter Bistro. Every dish was fantastic, the portions were good and the meals reasonably priced. Dessert was just as great and the service staff was friendly and attentive. We would highly recommend.
