Free Range Kitchen is the creation of owners Steve & Robin Humble who have been immersed in the Roaring Fork Valley's restaurant scene for 30 years.

We strive to create a menu that offers seasonal, innovative comfort food. We use responsibly farmed, freshly harvested ingredients without hormones or antibiotics, supporting the local Colorado farming and ranching communities. We use local ingredients, whenever possible.

Our goal is to create a BEAUTIFUL, FUN, WELCOMING restaurant & bar with WARM, FRIENDLY service, & a GREAT VIBE alongside the river, in Historic Downtown Basalt. With boutique global wine offerings, hand selected by Steve and a wide selection of regional craft beers and specialty cocktails using artisanal spirits and house-made infusions.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience that exceeded my expectations in every way. The ambiance was delightful, the service was outstanding, and every moment was filled with joy. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for something truly special.

Perfect dining experience at Free Range. Our waiter knew we wanted to catch up with old friends and provided the necessary amount of service to keep us watered and fed at the appropriate time. Nice long dinner with fantastic food, drinks and dessert. Lovely evening. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We love Free Range Kitchen because it feels like home away from home. The staff is friendly and professional. The food is delicious. Sushi night on Tuesday is new and so welcomed! We are grateful to have this lovely restaurant in our small town.

My scallops special was excellent but the two New York strip orders at the table were not. They were not even warm and they were chewy, just as our last friend that we took there in December who had the same experience.

We celebrated a special occasion and were treated like royalty! Steve, Robin and the staff were attentive to us and all guests on a very busy Saturday night. Good and service were excellent.
