Mia Francesca features the zesty, earthy cuisine of Rome and the surrounding areas of Tuscany, Umbria, and Lazio. It was one of the first restaurants in Chicago to encourage the lively art of dining with a contemporary, casually sophisticated trattoria ambiance, simple, rustic cooking, friendly service, and fair prices.

Waiting for a table at the beautiful antique bar is part of the charm of Mia Francesca. The plush upstairs dining room and lounge can be reserved for private events, as can the more intimate coach house tucked away behind the restaurant. In the summer, al fresco dining is also available on a charming cobblestone terrace.

Service was perfect and vibe is fun. Seats are comfortable and menu has good variety. Caesar said was excellent. Here’s where there’s room for improvement. The noise level, considering the population at the restaurant, is ridiculously loud. Cod had too much sauce and salt, pasta dish was uninteresting.

Had a FABULOUS birthday dinner at Mia Francesca. Shared the asparagus salad, which was very fresh and delicious. Had the rigatoni alla vodka and rolli alla Francesca (in-house made pasta!) entrees. Both were exceptionally well-prepared. (Honestly, the rolli was one of the best pasta dishes I've had in years.) Portion sizes were more than generous. Split the profiteroles for dessert, and they were the perfect end to dinner. Wine list was good. Our waiter, Rene, was on top of things the entire dinner. Atmosphere was wonderful. Will definitely return and bring our family/friends!

First time in. We made reservations for 4pm, got busier as the night went on. Friendly knowledgeable staff, nice vibe and delicious food. Great date night or girls night. There is a bar with TVS.

We like to sit the bar. Our bartender was very charming and paced our meal well. The food runner is a gem - smiling, friendly, and even offered to toss the raw yolk in the buccatini pasta to make the sauce. We had a great time, dining slowly over a good bottle of wine. And the house made lemoncello was excellent!

Great experience! Calamari was fresh and delicious. I had whitefish and it was a generous portion with a lovely melody of veggies. My family got linguine with shrimp and scallops, definitely did not skimp on the seafood like other restaurants we’ve encountered. We will be back.
