Open every day – serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, weekday happy hour 3:30pm-6pm, and weekend brunch – their expansive made-from-scratch menus offer American-inspired dishes including their famous fried chicken & waffles, farmhouse sushi, a variety of salads, fresh pastas, premium seafood & more.     I ordered a crab cake. What I received was inedible. It was a hard flat crusty disc with a thin filling of crab remnants. Not sure why this was served. However, the server was kind enough to return it to the kitchen and I had a hot dog with onion rings instead. The onion rings were good. Disappointing.

    This is my third trip to this location. The first trip was troublesome, but in all fairness, it was the first weekend they had opened. I went back last week and it was an excellent experience. I went back today, and it was a very good experience. My server was excellent. She was attentive. Got the AutoCorrect and checked back to make sure things were OK. There appeared to be a staffing issue, dilemma, something. In the middle of our dinner, there were eight or nine people circled around what had to be a supervisor, and they blocked that main thoroughfare for a good five or 10 minutes. The hostess twice, had to say excuse me in order to seat individuals coming in for food. Other than that, it was a great meal, and I will go back again within another week or two.

    Server was great! The grits are not tasty at all, they lack flavor and are too gritty. I will try lunch and dinner to see how the food is better!

    We recently ate at the newest Founding Farmers in Alexandria: overall service was very good, food was acceptable and we enjoyed ourselves. We have previously been to the original FF, FFB and Distillers. FOOD: We ordered the biscuits and the onion rings to start: biscuits were fresh but incredibly dry…nothing like the cheddar biscuits at their Georgetown Harbor location; onion rings were fresh but also dry, with only a tiny amount of sauce smeared on the plate. Fairly underwhelming. The mains were crab and shrimp “Louie” salad, scallops meuniere and crab ravioli. The standout was the salad: so refreshing and balanced, with a generous portion of crab and shrimp. The crab was especially delicious. The scallops meuniere was decent, but scallops were smaller than expected and had been cut in half to “double” the amount (actually three small scallops). Dish was well composed and tasty, but a poor value. The crab filled raviolis were the oddest of the three: the raviolis themselves were excellent and a good amount (6), but instead of being served in a pasta bowl with sauce, they were on a dinner plate dry with just a drizzle of sauce. We asked for more sauce and received a tiny metal ramekin’s worth. It was just enough to make the dish edible, which is a shame because the pasta itself was so well made. Dessert was the chocolate sampler to go, which is always a favorite. DRINKS: Blackberry sour, Farmer Jon, Sunstone Collins and Clementine Cooler: all were incredible and delivered much quicker than at the original Founding Farmers. Definitely the highlight of the meal! Our server Chelsea was super professional and on top of everything: our table was meticulously clean, we always had water and she was very careful with my allergy. The ambiance was pleasant, though more minimalist compared to some of their other restaurants. There’s a LOT of space, so you’re not sitting so close to others like at their original location. A nice night…we will be back.

    Great greeting, table, service. How lovely to be able to dine in a decidedly buzzy room, and yet not have to yell at your table mate to be heard! Attention other restos: PLEASE FIGURE OUT THIS FORMULA! Our waitperson was Emma, and she was a real peach. Sparkly, and anticipated our every need. Recommending the Devils Food Cake was a good move, too. That said, the food was a series of near-misses: The shrimp sushi had little or no shrimp; the onion rings were HUGE but all brittle coating; the spicy fried chicken was also too much brittle breading, though the chicken was juicy. The greens and kale were delicious, flavorful and cooked just long enough, but mighty oily. Some servings (chicken, onions) were enormous. I guess folks expect to carry home another meal when dining out these days? My husband said his roast beef was just OK. Wine was fine and fairly priced, but what gives with no branded liquor, only the Founding Farmers’ brand? In all, our expectations were not sky-high and they were met. This is a place that tries to be everything to everybody, as if the menu were designed by an algorithm, and it delivers on that promise.

    Our waiter was polite and personable but lack service and attention to details. Water was late and refill took 15 minutes. We waited 30min to get our check. Also, too much ice in mixed drinks. Didn’t get enough for $23 except one or two sips.

    My husband and I are really wanted to try this new location! We live down the street, so the location is very convenient for us. We gave them a few weeks to work out the new kinks. My husband is not a big fan of the other locations but he has changed his mind about this location. We had a great meal and great service. We were sat right away, and greeted by a waitress immediately. The spicy tuna crispy rice bites were our favorite! Delicious. The skillet corn bread, it’s always a favorite. My husband got the buckys spicy chicken sandwich with fries, and we loved the fries! I got the prime rib and crunchy shrimp sushi roll (don’t judge). The sushi was outstanding. I wish the prime rib had more Au jus, but it was still good. Beautiful decor and restaurant, we were impressed. The chocolate cream pie was also delicious. Prices not too bad for all we got. The only negative was our table was super close to others, so it felt like we were eating with them. We will come back.

    The ambience, lighting, service, and food quality were excellent. We were immediately seated on arrival (reservation) and had the perfect experience. The menu offered a wide variety of options and each of our three dishes oozed and tasted delicious. We'll definitely return. Our waitress (Gabby) was professional, witty, and proactively anticipated and met all our needs.

    Great food and atmosphere. A little pricey, but average for Alexandria. Lots of free parking.
