Located inside the Westley Hotel in the heart of Downtown Calgary, Fonda Fora is an exciting new contemporary Mexican restaurant brought to you by the folks at Thank You Hospitality.

Food and Beverage Magazine 30 under 30 winner, Chef Emilio Montenegro has crafted a menu based on his upbringing in Northern Mexico and his journey in kitchens across the world. Much of our concept is based around the heirloom corn of Mexico. We import four types of corn from a collective of heirloom farms in Mexico in order to provide the best product we can. We process this corn from raw and turn it into masa for dishes all across our menu, like our Sope, Tamal, and of course, Tortillas. There is a saying in Mexico that we live by at Fonda Fora: "Sin maiz no hay pais," meaning without corn, there is no country. Maiz is the lifeblood of Mexican cuisine, and we are excited to present it to you as it should be.

My family and I had a wonderful experience receiving a New year at Fonda fora, very beautiful place and delicious food. The drinks are so amazing and the service was great. 10/10 totally recommend it For any event, the place is so neat and clean Thanks Fonda ❤️

Had an interesting night here… Service was all around very odd - the only way I feel can accurately describe our experience. Our server was unknowledgeable of the food and beverage menu. Everyone who ordered a cocktail did not drink it, and the food was below average. There was definitely a reason we were 1 of 6 tables on a holiday Friday night. Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone I genuinely like.

Overall, the quality of the food was commendable; the trout Crudo was exceptional, being the highlight of the evening. However, the Pibil was somewhat lacking in flavor, preventing it from being a true standout. Nevertheless, the overall experience was excellent. Thank you. It is worth noting that the server appeared to harbor a significant discontent with his role, though he made an effort to conceal his unfavorable demeanor with a sardonic smile.

I’m staying in this hotel and glad to have a great restaurant within! Good menu. Great tequila menu. Services wonderful. Food was great.

The drinks were delicious. The gluten free options were abundant. We loved the salsa sampler. Next time we will try a tequila flight for sure. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable

Gabby is one of the best servers we’ve experienced. She’s so knowledgeable with the menu and so kind!! She took us for a ride with the plates for sure!
