Fishwife offers a menu of award-winning American cuisine with a Caribbean accent since 1986. With many daily specials, fresh Seafood as well as homemade pastas and dishes for children, there is something for everyone. Daily specials spotlight fresh catch and seasonal fish. Desserts are homemade as well. The atmosphere is casual with a FULL BAR and friendly service, making it a great place to visit with groups and family. Just a short walk from Asilomar Beach and Conference Center. Some of the most popular dishes are Clam chowder, Calamari, Alfredo Combo, Green Lip Mussels, Barramundi and famous homemade Key lime pie. This was an enjoyable meal. The menu is extensive. My wife and I had sole piccata and Hawaiian bowl, and both were both excellent. Two small complaints: (1) I ordered a glass of wine at the same time as I ordered my entree, but the wine did not arrive until several minutes after my entree plate. (2) The seasonal vegetables were served lukewarm, not hot enough. Nevertheless, I would recommend Fishwife for a pleasant, tasty and (mostly) well-prepared meal.

We looked at a number of possible restaurants before selecting this one. We were so disappointed in our choice. But first I should note that the service was quick, friendly and pleasant. No complaints about the service and staff. The food, on the other hand, was AT BEST mediocre. My husband ordered the "surf and turf" with a rib eye and shrimp, mashed potatoes and mixed veggies. I had the calamari "steak" with white rice, black beans and the same mixed veggies. My calamari was a very small portion, even for me, a small eater, and covered in a sauce that was more tasty than the calamari itself, which was flavorless. The rice seemed like it came scooped with an ice cream scoop from a rice cooker. The veggies were not seasoned. My husband's rib eye (I tasted it) was terrible. It had a lot of fat and lacked flavor. We took most of it home and the dog LOVED it. Just saying. But it wasn't worth over $100.00 to feed our dog. Probably the only truly NON disappointing dish was the cheese cake. It was supposed to be mango cheesecake, but it was just vanilla cheesecake with some mango drips on the plate. Still yummy anyway.

Friendly and accommodating staff. Beautifully presented food. Delicious! It was my friend's birthday and they all made it very special! Great ambiance too!

Fresh fish dishes abound here! Barramundi was served with black beans, rice, veggies over a crispy tortilla shell and was excellent. My wife had the pasta primavera with additional grilled salmon and loved it. We also split a Caesar salad to start and it was plenty for two. Wine list included a wide variety of CA vineyards and per glass prices were reasonable. Note: we ate here in late September, after the tourist season had past, so it was quieter than it is during the very busy summer months, due to it's proximity to Asilomar Conference Grounds and the Pacific Grove beach scene.

Food was very good, service was fast and friendly. I enjoyed the clam chowder and mussels, both appetizers, but were my mains. All of our group of four enjoyed the dinner.

I thought the service was impeccable. Very friendly staff and gracious wait staff. Sadly, the food was mediocre. Pasta was overcooked. Chowder was tasty but a little too thick for my taste. Asian salad was too sweet and not enough fresh veggies. Everything was edible but just slightly lacking.
